Helpful Tips to Add Disney World to Your Next Disney Cruise

There’s so much to love about a Disney vacation, and whether you’re setting sail with Disney Cruise Line or heading to Walt Disney World Resort for the ultimate theme park experience, you’re bound to have an amazing time.

Why not double the fun and enjoy the best of both worlds? Port Canaveral is just an hour away from Disney World, making it easy to adventure by land and sea – all in one trip. Here are some helpful tips to add a Disney World visit to your next Disney cruise.

Pack your best Disney fits – including a MagicBand+.

When combining a park visit with a cruise, you’ll want to pack an array of outfits, like a snazzy bathing suit, walking shoes, attire for any themed nights, comfy shorts and maybe even matching shirts for your group. My top tip for your Disney fit though is to bring along a MagicBand+.

Your Walt Disney World Resort MagicBand+ can be used onboard all Disney Cruise Line ships, allowing you to unlock the door to your room, enter our park gates, easily make purchases and enjoy special interactive experiences – all with a quick tap.

Disney Skyliner

Stay in “vacation mode” and leave the driving to us.

Whether you’re visiting the parks pre- or post-cruise, traveling between the cruise port and our parks is a breeze. Disney can add a transfer to and from Port Canaveral, Walt Disney World and Orlando International Airport to your itinerary for an additional fee.

Once at Walt Disney World, you can easily zip around our parks and resorts thanks to the many fun, quick and complimentary transportation offerings available. My personal favorite is a ride aboard the Disney Skyliner.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Turn your cruise into a full-week trip with a Disney Resort stay.

Turn your trip into a full-week vacation by adding a few nights at a Disney Resort to your three- or four-night cruise on the Disney Wish.

This gives you plenty of time to explore the parks, relax by the pool and enjoy the same legendary detail, service and storytelling of a Disney cruise at the resort of your choice. Florida residents can save up to 30% on rooms at select resorts for the rest of the summer and early fall.

Store your bags as soon as you arrive and hit the parks.

No matter the length of your stay at Walt Disney World, make the most of your day by starting early. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort, you get early entry to the parks and you can store your luggage with Bell Services before your room is ready. They’ll even deliver your bags to your room later in the day so you can focus on your park adventure.

Festival of the Lion King

Don’t miss out on the great entertainment options on land and sea.

One of the best parts of a Disney trip is that there’s no shortage of great entertainment options. With a land and sea vacation, you have double the opportunities to catch a spectacular Disney production – or multiple! Between live music, Broadway-caliber shows, fireworks, parades and more, there is something for everyone.

My top recommendation at Walt Disney World is “Festival of the Lion King,” where you can catch dancing, acrobatic hijinks and classic tunes from “The Lion King” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

Sit down and dive into a delicious meal at a Disney restaurant.

If you’re a foodie like me, your vacations always revolve around what you’re going to eat. I especially love to grab a meal at a sit-down restaurant, trying new ones on every trip. Disney has some of the best restaurants out there, like themed, rotational dining included in your cruise fare, and adult favorites like Palo and Remy on the high seas.

There are many incredible options at Walt Disney World too – including immersive picks that put you inside Beast’s enchanted castle, a Harambe marketplace, along Sunset Boulevard and even amongst toys in Andy’s Backyard. Use the My Disney Experience app to view dining availability at any given Disney World restaurant for multiple days at a time in one single search.

A family poses for a picture with Moana

Take lots of pictures – including with your favorite Disney pals.

Photos are a great way to turn special moments into timeless memories, but sometimes it’s too easy to forget to snap a picture when you’re on the go and having a blast. This is your reminder to take lots of pictures on your next trip – including with your favorite pals.

There are tons of opportunities to meet many different Disney characters on a land and sea vacation, and if you want to stay focused on the fun, we’ll handle the photos. With Disney PhotoPass Service at Walt Disney World and professional photo packages on Disney Cruise Line sailings, we’ll capture every hug, high-five and smile for you.

Ready to set sail for the ultimate Disney vacation? Combine high-seas adventure with theme park magic by booking a Disney cruise and a visit to Walt Disney World. These tips above can help you get the best of both worlds on your next trip. Bon voyage and “sea” you real soon!

Donald Duck Eats Spicy Wings on ‘Hot Ones’

As previously announced, Donald Duck is the special guest on the newest episode of “Hot Ones.”

Donald Duck on ‘Hot Ones’

An animated duck character strains to cool off by pulling on his shirt collar, seated at a table with several bottles of hot sauce and chicken wings, against a dark background.

Donald joins host Sean Evans for an interview as he eats cauliflower “wings” (instead of chicken wings) with progressively spicier Disney-themed sauces. The episode is part of an ongoing celebration of Donald’s 90th birthday. Mickey Mouse also makes an appearance, mostly because Donald “needed him to drive.”

Donald Duck is an icon of the American cinema, with countless film and television appearances to his name, and a distinctive delivery that makes every appearance unique and unforgettable. Now, he’s celebrating a major birthday milestone—90 years of wise-quacking—with a historic appearance on Hot Ones. But how is he with spicy food? Find out as Donald takes on a gauntlet of spicy cauliflower nuggets and discusses Disney lore, his unfiltered thoughts on impersonators, and much more.

“Donald Duck Tries to Keep His Cool While Eating Spicy Wings | Hot Ones”

See Donald discuss his birthday, his acting career starting with “The Wise Little Hen” (1934), his middle name, his friends, and more in the episode below.

“Mickey Mouse and his friends, including Donald Duck, have always been a part of popular culture, so it only made sense that Donald and Mickey appear on one of the most recognized internet shows with celebrity guests,” said Tim Pennoyer, director of Brand Marketing, The Walt Disney Company.

Animation for Donald on this episode of “Hot Ones” was done by the Walt Disney Animation Studios team led by animator Eric Goldberg. Disney Legend Tony Anselmo voiced Donald, as usual, alongside Bret Iwan as Mickey Mouse.

“It’s been a great honor to direct two of our greatest stars, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, on this special episode of ‘Hot Ones.’ Of course, Donald can get a bit cranky at times, but all of the artists involved loved animating him!” said Goldberg. “It was a blast working with Sean Evans and the ‘Hot Ones’ team, and the voices of Donald, Tony Anselmo, and Mickey, Bret Iwan.”

Donald’s 90th birthday has also been honored with exclusive merchandise like a Dooney & Bourke collection and a Disney Munchlings popcorn bucket and plush. Merch is available at Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and on DisneyStore.com.

Swizzle Lounge Decorated With Jack-o’-Lanterns for Halloween Horror Nights 33

The Swizzle Lounge at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort has once again been decked out with jack-o’-lanterns for Halloween Horror Nights.

Swizzle Lounge HHN Decorations

A modern lounge with retro furniture, a mosaic wall featuring the words "Swizzle Lounge," a bar with lit pendant lights, and patrons seated at tables.

The lounge is located in the lobby of Cabana Bay Beach Resort. There are jack-o’-lantern decorations under the neon Swizzle Lounge sign and on the shelves behind the bar.

A colorful mural backdrop for the "Swizzle Lounge" with lighted pumpkins and green foliage set on large barrels, including a wooden sign for "Mr. Carver's Best Selection Pumpkins.

The jack-o’-lanterns are growing on long green vines. The ones under the sign are growing over a trio of barrels and a sign reading “Mr. Carver’s Best Selection of Pumpkins est. 1950.”

Mr. Carver was originally introduced in the Slaughter Sinema house at Halloween Horror Nights 28. The character owns a pumpkin patch in the recurring HHN location Carey, Ohio. This year’s event will feature a second Slaughter Sinema house.

A man in a tank top leans on a brightly colored bar decorated with pumpkins. The bartender in a yellow shirt attends to him. The bar has a modern design with hanging lights and stools.

The pumpkins behind the bar are much the same with large vines curled around them. There are fully three-dimensional pumpkins with twisted faces and lights inside. The wall behind them is covered in paneling featuring partially-dimensional pumpkins and vines.

A bar with a wooden counter, liquor bottles, beer taps, and three hanging lights, set against a wall covered in Halloween-themed carved pumpkins.

The tradition of the jack-o’-lanterns taking over Swizzle Lounge began in 2022, although the lounge still celebrated HHN before that year. If the 2022 and 2023 seasons are any indication, more decorations are soon to come to Swizzle Lounge, including references to the Pumpkin Lord and Lil’ Boo.

A modern bar area with a curved wooden counter, red wire barstools, and overhead lighting. Two bartenders are behind the counter, and the back wall features an artistic pumpkin-themed design.

The Pumpkin Lord was introduced in The Wicked Growth: Realm of the Pumpkin house at HHN 30. Lil’ Boo, a unique jack-o’-lantern, was technically introduced at HHN 27 but became a meme and unofficial mascot when featured among The Wicked Growth decorations at HHN 30. Both returned for the Horrors of Halloween scare zone at HHN 31, and Lil’ Boo has continued to return in some form or another since.

Universal Aventura Hotel has alien theming for HHN this year. Which Halloween aesthetic do you prefer?

Halloween Horror Nights runs on select nights from August 30 through November 3.

Kuzco’s Poison Bottle Glow Cube From Disneyland Will (Probably) Not Turn You Into a Llama

“The poison for Kuzco, the poison chosen especially to kill Kuzco, Kuzco’s poison. That poison? Got you covered.” – A Disneyland merchandise designer, probably.

That’s right, a new Kuzco’s Poison Bottle Glow Cube is now available at Disneyland Resort for Halloween 2024.

Kuzco’s Poison Bottle Glow Cube – $6.79

A person holds a small Kuzco's Poison Bottle Glow Cube with a wooden cap and a llama design containing a red liquid, in an outdoor area with people and buildings in the background.

The glow cube is shaped just like the “poison” bottle from “The Emperor’s New Groove,” complete with a llama label. However, we suspect that whatever liquid is inside would work like poison rather than turning you into a llama. (Maybe. It’s not indicated if the contents are non-toxic. Please don’t risk it).

The back has a tiny warning symbol.

To activate the light-up effect, press the button on top of the bottle stopper. The stopper is for appearances only, and you cannot remove it to access the poison/potion.

It illuminates in a pinkish-red to create the glowing effect for a creepy cocktail.

Where to Find Kuzco’s Poison Bottle Glow Cube

Mickey & Friends Debut New Halloween Meet and Greet Costumes for 2024

Mickey & Friends have debuted their new meet and greet costumes for Halloween Time at Disneyland 2024.

Mickey & Friends Halloween Meet and Greet Costumes

Donald & Daisy

Two cartoon duck characters dressed in Halloween-themed costumes stand in front of a festive backdrop featuring a large Mickey pumpkin and decorations at Disneyland Halloween Time, part of the Mickey & Friends Meet and Greet Costumes event.

Donald and Daisy have coordinating costumes, clearly competing for the cutest couple with Mickey & Minnie. Donald dons a green, yellow, purple, and blue warlock ensemble with a patchwork cloak and matching hat.

Daisy’s dress and hat are in shades of purple and orange. She also has special shoes and striped stockings.

Goofy & Pluto

Characters in animal costumes, including Mickey & Friends in their 2024 Halloween costumes, stand in front of a themed backdrop adorned with festive decorations and pumpkins for an enchanting meet and greet.

Goofy and Pluto are coming to us straight from the pumpkin patch. Goofy’s scarecrow costume is in autumnal shades and features a tunic, pants, shoes, and a hat. Pluto sports the top of a pumpkin as a hat.

Mickey & Minnie

Mickey and Minnie Mouse in Halloween costumes pose playfully amidst a festive 2024 Halloween backdrop with pumpkins and decorative foliage, joined by members of Mickey & Friends.

The Big Cheeses were ready to cheese for the camera in their new digs. Mickey has a black overalls outfit with a skeletal design and a cape. Minnie’s dress is in faux tatters. Her pointed shoes have green and orange embellishments that match her stockings and bow.

Minnie and Mickey Mouse, clad in colorful Halloween costumes, pose in front of a festive background at Disneyland's 2024 Halloween event with Mickey & Friends.

The only characters we were missing from the lineup were Clarabelle Cow and Chip ‘n Dale.
