New Minion Drink Carrier at Universal Orlando Resort

Carry your bottle, soda, or other drink in this new Minion drink carrier available at Universal Orlando Resort.

We found it for sale in the Universal Studios Store in Universal CityWalk Orlando.

Minion Drink Carrier – $16

The carrier is appropriately yellow. A Minion face is printed on each side. One side features a happy Minion with two eyes, a black puff of hair, and a big smile.

The yellow strap is patterned with Minion faces, including the two on the carrier, and others of varying expressions. The strap also features the “Despicable Me” and Illumination logos and black plastic hardware.

A round of “Despicable Me 4” merchandise featuring Minions was released earlier this year. A summer collection of Minions items was released soon after.

New LEGO Super Mario Kart Sets Arriving in January 2025

LEGO has revealed six new Super Mario Kart sets releasing on January 1, 2025. None of these sets come with minifigures.

Yoshi Bike (72031) – $14.99

A LEGO set featuring a blue Super Mario character riding a green and white vehicle, surrounded by orange and blue traffic cones, a blue box with a question mark, a banana peel, and a green turtle shell.

This blue Yoshi rides a green Yoshi-inspired bike. The set includes traffic cones, a green shell, a banana peel, and a “floating” item block. This set includes 133 pieces.

Standard Kart (72032) – $19.99

Colorful LEGO Super Mario-themed kart set with a character figure, red and white umbrella, banana piece, and various accessories on a white background.

The standard kart set is 174 pieces and allows fans to build a red, blue, black, and white Mario Kart. The set includes a banana peel, red and green turtle shells, and flames shooting out of the engines.

Donkey Kong & DK Jumbo (72033) – $34.99

A Donkey Kong-themed LEGO set featuring Donkey Kong in a car, a target with a banana on top, and two projectiles resembling red and green shells, all within the vibrant world of Super Mario.

Donkey Kong is depicted driving his barrel-inspired kart. The 387-piece set includes turtle shells and a target to launch them at.

Baby Mario vs. Baby Luigi (72034) – $29.99

Two Super Mario-themed LEGO sets featuring characters in karts, red and green, with various projectiles and obstacles around them.

Baby Mario and Baby Luigi each get their own themed car with turtle shell launchers. Mario’s car is red and gray with blue wheels. Luigi’s car is green and silver with black wheels. This set is 321 pieces.

Toad’s Garage (72035) – $39.99

Two Toads help you construct a kart in this 390-piece garage set. The set features a white, black, and gray car with blue wheels and a red Toad insignia. Designers can trade out the blue tires for black ones, while their car is lifted on a yellow platform.

Baby Peach & Grand Prix Set (72036) – $79.99

A Lego Mario Kart set featuring various Super Mario characters, karts, and track elements, including a start/finish line, colorful blocks, traffic cones, and a playful racing environment.

The largest set includes three vehicles, an archway, track barriers, a podium, cones, turtle shells, a food cart, item boxes, and Lakitu on top of his cloud. The characters included in this set are Baby Princess Peach and her colorful kart, Toad and his motorbike, and Lemmy Koopa and a boat-themed kart. In all, the set is 823 pieces.

This new set joins a “Jaws”-themed LEGO set that was released on August 1, 2024. Minifigures of Chief Brody, Matt Hooper, and Quint were included in that set.

Walt Disney World Cast Member Honored With Heroes Award After Saving Girl’s Life

A Walt Disney World Cast Member was recently honored with the Disney Heroes Award after saving a guest’s life.

Nichole Shaw, Sales Experience Manager at Disney Vacation Club, was making her daily rounds at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort when she noticed a young girl choking. Shaw quickly jumped into action and helped save the guest’s life.

For her actions, Shaw was recognized with the Disney Heroes Award, an honor presented to Cast Members who perform extraordinary life-saving acts on or off the clock. She now wears a golden Disney Heroes charm on her nametag. Over 100 Cast Members have been recognized with the award since its inception in 2008. Recipients have been from Disney locations across the United States, Tokyo, and more.

“Having this award every single day to look down on is a reminder that I’m capable of anything, even the scary things,” Shaw said.

A video of Shaw receiving and discussing her award is now available on the Disney Experiences website.

Past recipients of the Disney Heroes Award include a Disneyland custodial Cast Member who saved a driver from a car accident and an EPCOT security Cast Member who saved a 4-year-old from a car submerged in water.

Brightline is giving away four grand prize vacations to Universal Orlando Resort through a new sweepstakes.

Brightline is giving away Getaway Prize packages to Universal Orlando Resort to four lucky winners. The prizes include:

  • Three-night hotel accommodations at Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort
  • Brightline PREMIUM round trip tickets to Orlando, Florida from a Brightline station for the winner and up to three guests
  • Ground transportation to and from the station and hotel in Orlando, Florida
  • 3-Park, 3-Day Park-to-Park admission to both Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Volcano Bay

The approximate value of the vacation is $3,927.95. No purchase is necessary to enter the sweepstakes.

The sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Florida who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry. If the winner is between the ages of 18 and 21, they must be accompanied by someone at least 21 years of age to check in to the hotel.

The sweepstakes is open until August 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET. A random drawing for the four winners will be held on August 29, 2024. Winners will be notified via email and must respond within two business days to claim their prize.

Trips must be booked at least 60 days before the intended departure date. The travel window for the prize expires on December 31, 2024. Travel is subject to holidays, blackout dates, and other prize and travel restrictions.

Brightline opened their Orlando International Airport station last year, with service as far south as Miami. Universal is working with SunRail to create the new Sunshine Corridor which would connect International Drive (and Epic Universe) to Brightline.
