First Cotino Storyliving by Disney Model Homes Almost Complete

Disney has shared another behind-the-scenes look at the construction of their first-ever Storyliving by Disney community, Cotino, in California’s Coachella Valley.

Cotino Construction Update

An all-new virtual fly-through video gives viewers a ground-level view of the neighborhood’s streetscape complete with original home designs and a colorful landscaping palette that celebrates the vibrancy of desert flora: a variety of aloe and agave plants, flowering yucca and cacti, and more.

The neighborhood tour ends at the community’s Artisan Club. This voluntary club will be a go-to gathering place for club members and their guests, whether taking a dip in Cotino Bay, grabbing dinner at Architect’s Fork, or breaking a sweat during a fitness class. The Artisan Club is currently under construction but Disney said they would share a behind-the-scenes look soon.

The community’s first three model homes, built by award-winning homebuilder Shea Homes, are nearly complete. Disney shared a look at the model homes under construction earlier this year. The interior finishing touches are being made alongside exterior elements like rock detail and siding. Each of the three model homes under construction are part of different design collections infused with Disney magic from Imagineers.

A modern two-story building with large windows and a brick facade is under construction beside a one-story structure with a flat roof. Both buildings are situated on a partially paved lot.

The home pictured on the left above is part of the Cotino Agrarian Collection. It features natural materials like stone and timber paired with more contemporary shapes to create a charming yet modern style. The home on the right is part of the Cotino Oasis Collection. Its exterior design is inspired by the iconic, renowned mid-century modern architecture the area is known for.

A wood-framed house under construction situated in a sandy environment with a cloudy sky overhead.

Construction has also begun down the street on a model home from Woodbridge Pacific Group. Part of the Cotino Aspiron Collection, this home design collection is all about the artistic momentum of the Valley today. These homes will feature modern materials like glass and concrete, with pops of color to exude warmth and style with artistic flair.

The Shea model homes are expected to open in just a few weeks.

New Red Carpet Mural at Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort

Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort has a new mural on the lobby wall outside World Premiere Food Court and Donald’s Double Feature.

All-Star Movies Mural

Wide hallway leading to a food court entrance with colorful wall art and a ceiling of glass panels. The hallway features vintage-style street lamps and a polished floor.

The mural replaces photos of movie stars from over the years, which made up the “All-Star Movie Hall of Fame.”

Entrance to a store with colorful mural depicting animated characters and a sign that reads "Donald’s Fine Art and Collectibles," located inside a building with skylights and a transportation sign.

The wall is the same blue color as before. The palm trees are new, and spotlight beams from behind the green Hollywood mountains are moving across the center. The silhouettes of various characters waving and flashing pictures like paparazzi from behind a painted red rope on golden stanchions. At the base of the wall is a red carpet that runs throughout the mural.

A colorful mural with cartoon characters and spotlights adorns a wall in a mall. A sign in front indicates that the mural is under refurbishment.

The character silhouettes are in the same light blue color or dark blue, creating depth to the mural. The characters include Donald holding an autograph book and pen, and a special appearance by Oswald.

A sign indicates the lobby mural is under refurbishment, but it appears to be complete and dry.

Many characters are recognizable, while some of the character silhouettes you may not recognize are inspired by short films. In true Goofy fashion unlike any other silhouette is slipping on a banana peel.

A mural with colorful musical notes and cartoon characters playing instruments decorates a wall in an indoor seating area where three people are seated on chairs, with a suitcase nearby.

All-Star Music has already revealed a new mural featuring a similar art style.

A spacious indoor area with a green wall, skylight ceiling, and tiled floor. Three people are conversing near an informational sign, while two others walk in the background. Blue seating is visible.

The photos of the “All-Star Sports Hall of Fame” have been removed, leaving faded squares on the green wall where they used to be. We expect it will get a matching mural, too.

What do you think of the new All-Star Movie Resort mural?
