The Haunted Mansion-inspired Bride Churro and Groom Churro have made a spooky return to the New Orleans Square churro cart at Disneyland for the 2024 Halloween season, much to the delight of fans. These special churros were originally introduced back in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Haunted Mansion, one of Disneyland’s most iconic and beloved attractions.
For this season, guests can also enjoy an added treat called “Couples First Kiss,” which is a delightful side of strawberry sauce paired with wedding cake. This extra indulgence is available for an additional $1.50, adding a sweet and tangy twist to your churro experience.
Bride Churro – $6.50
Elegantly dressed churro in a bouquet of vanilla and sugar
Let’s start with the Bride Churro, priced at $6.50. This churro is elegantly dressed in a bouquet of vanilla and sugar, giving it a simple yet sophisticated appearance. The churro’s ghostly white pallor comes from a generous dusting of sugar, making it stand out in the Halloween lineup. The flavor is straightforward but delicious, capturing the essence of vanilla in every bite. It’s sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, striking a perfect balance that should appeal to a wide range of guests. Whether you’re a churro aficionado or just looking for a reliable Halloween treat, the Bride Churro is a safe choice that won’t leave you disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed it and found it to be a delightful addition to the Halloween season at Disneyland.
Rating out of 7: 6
Groom Churro – $6.50
Classic churro dressed in a duo of dark and milk chocolate
On the other hand, the Groom Churro, also priced at $6.50, didn’t quite live up to expectations. This churro is dressed in a duo of dark and milk chocolate sugar, which should have been a rich and indulgent combination. However, we found the flavor to be rather lackluster. The chocolate sugar, both dark and milk, was surprisingly bland and didn’t provide the depth of flavor we were hoping for. In comparison to the Bride Churro, the Groom Churro falls short in both taste and satisfaction. If you’re torn between the two, we recommend opting for the Bride Churro and skipping the Groom.
Rating out of 7: 2
In summary, while the Bride Churro offers a delightful and balanced flavor that’s sure to please most visitors, the Groom Churro was a disappointment, lacking the richness we expected. The “Couples First Kiss” side option is a fun addition for those who want to add a bit more flair to their treat. Whether you’re a fan of The Haunted Mansion or just love a good churro, the Bride Churro is the way to go this Halloween season at Disneyland.
