Chucky Popcorn Bucket Arrives at Universal Orlando Resort

The Chucky popcorn bucket has returned to Universal Orlando Resort. This year’s version says new phrases and has stitches on his face.

We discovered the new popcorn bucket at All Hallows Eve Boutique in Universal Islands of Adventure. The location has transformed for the Halloween season and is now temporarily known as Boardwalk Lil’ Bootique.

Chucky wears his blue “Good Guys” overalls and red and white shoes. He holds a bloody knife in his right hand. His face is covered in red, bloody stitching. Red stitching is also on his right hand. Last year’s version of the Chucky popcorn bucket had no such stitching.

The back of Chucky’s head opens for popcorn. The speaker is still in the middle of the back of his overalls, and the battery panel is below that.

Sign for the "Chucky Popcorn Bucket" promotion at Universal Orlando, featuring an image of the Chucky doll. Text advertises a free first fill with a bucket purchase of $44.99. Additional features include talking, lighting up, and seeing.

The popcorn bucket display sign shows Chucky with his eyes lit up red. A blue bubble states, “I talk! I light up! I see you!” The first popcorn bucket fill is free.

You can prompt Chucky to speak by saying, “Hey, Chucky.” This year, his three phrases are, “From now on, no more Mr. Good Guy,” “Alright kid, fun’s over,” and “Sorry kid, you got me… I’m bad.” When saying the final phrase, Chucky’s eyes light up and his head rotates as he laughs. When he says “From now on, no more Mr. Good Guy,” his eyes blink.

The popcorn bucket strap is yellow with red blood splatters. “Chucky Good Guys” is printed in red, while “Universal Studios” is printed in light blue.

NEWS: Disney and Warner Brothers Sports Streaming Service BLOCKED by Federal Judge

Sports fans, boy do we have an interesting update for you.

Venu Sports

In early 2023, The Walt Disney Company announced that streaming would become a massive priority. Part of that goal has been to turn ESPN+ into the preeminent sports platform, and that’s how the idea for Venu Sports came about. Venu Sports is the proposed sports streaming service that combines ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery and would become available to those with ESPN+, Hulu, and Max subscriptions. Disney had initially said that the streaming service should be available by fall 2024 via a new app, BUT there’s been a major setback.

A federal judge has granted FuboTV’s motion “for a preliminary injunction against the planned sports streaming venture by ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery,” according to The Associated Press. What does all this legal jargon mean? Well, it means a federal judge has currently blocked plans for this new streaming service to come to fruition — for now.

©Disney | Walt Disney Company Headquarters

In her 69-page ruling, District Judge Margaret M. Garnett in the Southern District of New York stated that “Fubo was likely to be successful in proving during a trial that the joint venture would violate antitrust laws,” which would then cause irreparable harm to Fubo customers.

©Fubo

ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery are already planning to appeal the ruling. Fubo first announced that it was suing The Walt Disney Company, FOX Corp., Warner Bros. Discovery, and other affiliates back in February, alleging that “The forthcoming launch of a sports-streaming joint venture steals Fubo’s playbook and is the latest example of this campaign.” But why is Fubo so concerned about this? Well, in their filing, FuboTV shared that they’ve been trying for years to offer a sports-only streaming service (exactly what Disney’s new Venu Sports service is trying to do) but have been prevented from doing so because of ESPN. Additionally, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery have supposedly forced Fubo to “spend hundreds of millions of dollars to license and broadcast content that its customers do not want or need.”

ESPN Wide World of Sports

In response to the ruling, ESPN, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery said in a joint statement: “We believe that Fubo’s arguments are wrong on the facts and the law, and that Fubo has failed to prove it is legally entitled to a preliminary injunction. Venu Sports is a pro-competitive option that aims to enhance consumer choice by reaching a segment of viewers who currently are not served by existing subscription options.”

©ESPN

This injunction means that consumers will still have access to a more competitive marketplace with multiple sports streaming options rather than just one sole streaming option (which would essentially happen if Venu Sports launched today). This bump in the road means that the earliest we could see Venu Sports is likely next year in 2025.

NEWS! Close-Up Look At NEW Monsters Inc. Coaster Announced for Disney World!

For the first time ever, Disney has announced a brand-new Monsters, Inc-themed land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Hollywood Studios

At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Disney dropped some MAJOR park news on us. They announced several new lands for Disney World, new nighttime entertainment, new rides, new shows, and so much more! There was a lot to take in at the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase on August 10th. But the new Monsters, Inc. Land that was announced certainly intrigued us, especially the first-ever suspended roller coaster in a Disney park!

The new Monsters, Inc. Land will take humans to Monstropolis for the first time ever! Here the monsters are looking for your help. They need our laughs to power the city and keep things working.

We’ll get to roam around the city and even visit the plant that is in charge of collecting your screams…ah, laughs. Monsters, Inc. welcomes you to the floor!

A new land themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Monsters, Inc.” is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Taking place after the events of the film, Monstropolis needs humans’ laughter to power the city.
©Disney

Inside the Monsters, Inc. plant, you’ll find the first-ever suspended roller coaster in a Disney park. A suspended roller-coaster is one where you sit in your seat but your legs dangle off the ground. The seat is attached to the track above your head instead of under your seat.

You can even ride on a door like Mike and Sully in the iconic scene from the film with Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster.
©Disney

When sharing this exciting news, Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D’Amaro said, “The first time I saw Monsters, Inc., all I wanted to do was ride on one of those doors like Mike and Sulley. You’ll go into the factory and experience the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park. Remember in the movie how those claws grab the doors and hoist them up into the air to take them away? We’re doing that, too. And you’re going along for the ride.”

It sounds like it’s going to be tons of fun! We even got to see a 3-D model of the new ride at the D23 event. The model looks really cool! You can how you’ll be inside the factory and whipping and twisting through the area holding all the doors to the human world.

Monsters, Inc. roller coaster

One concern people do have is that they think it looks like it might be kind of short for a roller coaster. However, you can see in the model that the track loops a BUNCH of times in and out, back and forth through the door-holding area. It looks really neat!

New roller coaster

Since we don’t know how long this ride will last yet, here are some examples of other ride times in Disney World.

Even some of the most exciting rides in Disney World are three minutes or under, so this new roller coaster will likely live up to the hype!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

We’ve waited 23 years for this ride announcement, and we’re super excited to finally get to ride on a door through Monsters, Inc! At this time, Disney has yet to announce where in Hollywood Studios this new land will go, so we’ll be watching for more details.

Man Arrested for Leaving Dog in 120-Degree Car at Disney Springs Just Weeks After Puppy Dies in Similar Incident

A man has been arrested and charged with a third-degree felony count of cruelty to animals after leaving his dog in a 120-degree car at Disney Springs.

Man Arrested at Disney Springs

Disney Springs water tower against cloudy sky

Raul Benitezautrey, 42, of Philadelphia, has been charged with a third-degree felony count of cruelty to animals stemming from his July 1 arrest at Disney Springs. He has pleaded not guilty, according to Orange County Circuit Court records.

Authorities have stated that Benitezautrey tried to enter Disney Springs with his Chihuahua but was turned away because the entertainment district doesn’t allow pets unless they are trained service animals.

According to the recently released Orange County Sheriff’s arrest report, Benitezautrey returned to his vehicle and then arrived back at the entrance of Disney Springs shortly after that.

This raised alarms for Disney security, who quickly sprung into action. Security searched the Watermelon Lot, eventually finding the dog inside the vehicle with the windows rolled down slightly. The dog was ultimately rescued while Benitezautrey was in Disney Springs with his family.

A clear turquoise pond bordered by lush greenery, reminiscent of Disney Springs, leads to buildings with metal roofs in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

The arrest report indicated that a small bowl of water and food were left on the vehicle floor. With all doors closed and the windows slightly down, temperatures soared to 120 degrees. Even with the back door open for five minutes, the temperature only dropped to 102 degrees.

After entering Disney Springs around 1:20 p.m., Benitezautrey returned to his car around 3:05 p.m. with his girlfriend and two young children. The arrest report indicates that Benitezautrey attempted to get his dog back from animal control while ignoring the deputy’s orders.

The entire incident took place in front of a three-year-old and a seven-year-old. One of the girls became so upset that she started crying and screaming for her dog. The arrest report indicates that “there was a high probability that the dog could have been seriously harmed with prolonged exposure to the extreme temperatures.”

Benitezautrey and his attorney did not respond to requests for comment this week.

lime garage fountain54

This incident took place less than two months after another incident involving a guest leaving their dogs in a hot car at Disney Springs. On May 4, a man left four puppies in his car at the Lime Parking Garage at Disney Springs while he ate dinner at a restaurant. While three of the puppies survived, one was euthanized after being found in critical condition.

Arrests continue to be all too common at Disney Parks. In June, a woman tried to drunkenly take her child to Magic Kingdom. In that same month, two guests violently attacked EPCOT Cast Members at Space 220 Restaurant.

Planters Around Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs Removed at Disney’s Boardwalk

On a recent trip to Disney’s Boardwalk, we noticed that the planters had been removed from around Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs.

Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs

A closed corn dog stand with blue and white striped awnings, labeled "Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs," on a boardwalk under a cloudy sky. Red outdoor chairs and tables are visible on the left.

The planters have been removed from around the Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs stand at Disney’s Boardwalk, giving us a full look at the rethemed location. This isn’t the first time that we’ve received an unobstructed view of what was previously BoardWalk To Go. In June, the walls around the building were removed. However, planters were then implemented so that work could continue on the interior and exterior of the location.

A small yellow and blue food stand by the water with a sign advertising lemonade, corn dogs, and cotton candy. A menu is posted next to a blue door labeled "Order".

The exterior of the building doesn’t look much different than it did in our June update. The only major updates were the installation of a fire alarm and the locations’ menu is now next to the “Order” window on one side of the kiosk. We were able to spot the menu through the planters in July.

The menu shares many similarities with Blue Ribbon Corn Dog in Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort. However, the new Walt Disney World location will feature more corn dog variations, cotton candy, and lemonade.

View inside a clean, modern food truck kitchen with stainless steel equipment, a blue door at the back, and various kitchen utensils arranged on the counter.

With the walls down we were able to sneak a peek inside the location. This was our first time getting a look at the space and appliances inside of the stand. Everything looks to be in the proper place, with no noticeable construction materials. Perhaps this means that we will be getting an official opening date for Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs soon.

Are you excited for the opening of Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs? Let us know in the comments.

Disneyland Honors Ticket From 1985 Gifted By Father to Daughter

In a TikTok shared by ABC7LA, a guest was able to enter Disneyland Park with a ticket from 1985 that was gifted to her by her father.

In 1985, Scott King visited Disneyland for the 30th anniversary of the theme park. At the time, Disneyland was running a promotion where every 30th guest to enter the park had a chance to win an additional prize.

A "Disneyland '89 Year" button reads "I'm A Winner!" alongside a 40-Year-Old Disneyland Passport ticket and an American Broadcasting Company identification card. This cherished moment is a classic example of passing down magical memories from father to daughter.

King played the scratch-off he was given and found himself a winner. For his victory, King received a free ticket to Disneyland, as well as an “I’m a Winner” badge celebrating the park’s 30th anniversary.

Rather than using the ticket, King placed it, and the badge, in a scrapbook where they both remained for 39 years. Then, his 18-year-old daughter, Sabrina King told her father that she wanted to go to Disneyland with her boyfriend. Scott sprung into action and found the ticket buried in the garage.

Though the ticket was 39 years old, it had no expiration date. A Cast Member at Disneyland Park ran some checks and simply said, “Very rare occurrence here,” as he held up the ticket. The checks were successful, and Sabrina was able to enter Disneyland Park with her father’s ticket.

Disney Parks are known for honoring old tickets that don’t have expiration dates. If you have any of these tickets lying around, you could save yourself a lot of money. Today, one-day tickets to Disneyland Park cost anywhere from $104 to $194 depending on the date of visit. Sometimes, Disneyland will run specials that allow Anaheim residents to purchase discounted tickets. Yet, even discounted tickets aren’t nearly as cheap as tickets from nearly 40 years ago. ABC7LA reports that in 1985, tickets cost $16.50.

The full TikTok from ABC7LA can be found here.

Oogie Boogie Bash and Other Halloween Decor Arrives at Disney California Adventure

On a recent trip to Disney California Adventure Park, we noticed that some Oogie Boogie Bash and other Halloween decor had been added to the theme park.

Halloween Decor

Large, illuminated Oogie Boogie decoration with bats and a full moon backdrop over the entrance to California Adventure. Sky is clear blue.

Oogie Boogie has taken his usual seasonal place above “California” at the Disney California Adventure Park entrance. Bats fly around his extended arms. His black and green figure stands in front of a white full moon.

Once inside the park, guests can turn around and see another image of Oogie Boogie. His laughing black silhouette is featured inside the yellow back of the full moon.

Oogie Boogie Bash begins on August 25 and runs on select dates through October 31. Tickets for the event have already sold out. A sneak peek at merchandise for the event was recently shared.

A display of fruit baskets, canned goods, and soda bottles on metal shelves. Two carved pumpkins with faces are on the top shelf.

Jack-o’-lanterns and gourds have been added to the top shelf inside Mortimer’s Market.

Interior of a store with shelves displaying Halloween-themed items and various products. A ceiling fan is on, and a clock is mounted on the wall. People are looking at items in a freezer.

The shelf in front of another wall inside of the snack stand features even more jack-o’-lanterns. Three of them sit together inside a single crate.

Black-and-white cartoon figure resembling an early version of Mickey Mouse holds a lit match while cautiously peering into a dark room.

While the banners, bats, and other Halloween decor that usually inhabit Buena Vista Street have yet to be installed, “The Skeleton Dance” displays have appeared at Elias & Co. and Big Top Toys.

In the above image, a black and white Mickey Mouse is frozen in fear. He holds a paintbrush above his head.

A storefront window displays "Clothing, Accessories, Gifts, Souvenirs" with a Mickey Mouse decal.

In one window display, Mickey sits in front of organ keys. He stares in fear as three organ pipes come to life behind him.

Window display featuring two skeletons with raised arms and a skeleton dog beneath them. Text reads, "Everything for Infants and Children." Reflections of buildings and a person are visible in the glass.

The final display depicts Mickey playing the organ while two skeletons dance behind him. This image is based on”The Skeleton Dance,” a “Silly Symphony” short from 1929.

Halloween decor continues to pop up around Disneyland Resort. We previously reported that Halloween Time signage had been added near the Mickey and Friends tram plaza at Disneyland Resort.
