Torture Faire Devices, ‘A Quiet Place’ Food Booth, and More Added Ahead of Halloween Horror Nights 33

The Torture Faire and Swamp of the Undead scare zones at Halloween Horror Nights 33 continue to take shape, as more decor and theming have been added ahead of the event’s opening.

Battery Park

A waterfront scene with two large water containers secured under a grey metal framework against a backdrop of buildings and rocky terrain.

More trusses have been erected in Battery Park. We previously reported two screens and light fixtures had been installed in this area.

Large outdoor structure with a tiered green roof and four rectangular black screens flanked by metal trusses on a red brick ground.

Stands made of the same metal material as the trusses have been installed beneath the green structure in Battery Park. Lights have also been installed above the middle stand. Black screens have been erected behind each stand.

Covered outdoor structure with metal framework and rectangular platforms arranged in symmetrical layout on red brick flooring. Trees and buildings visible in the background.

The stands run along both sides of the structure, but you can’t see one side from the other because of the black screens. Each stand features a cutout with a countertop.

Swamp of the Undead

A wooden treehouse with a rustic design, elevated by a platform and accessed by a short staircase, surrounded by trees and foliage.

It’s been a while since we checked on the treehouse in the Swamp of the Undead scare zone. In our last update of the prop, there wasn’t much beyond the structure. Now, more minor details have been added.

The treehouse porch features a new creepy windchime that hangs above a decrepit wooden chair.

A weathered wooden structure with broken windows has a wind chime hanging from the eave. The background shows leafy tree branches.

A closer look at the windchime reveals that most of the item is made from bones.

A weathered, wooden treehouse stands elevated on stilts among trees, partially obscured by surrounding foliage. Adjacent is a stucco building with a tiled roof.

Clothes have been added to the clothesline on the side of the treehouse. While the clothes may be drying, they certainly aren’t clean.

If you’re looking for more Swamp of the Undead updates, we recently reported that an airboat had been uncovered in this scare zone.

First Haunted House Portal and Wait Time Sign

A gated driveway flanked by two trees and temporary structures with screens positioned on either side. A cylindrical structure is visible to the right. The area is bordered by greenery.

TV screens have been installed on a truss near Men in Black: Alien Attack. These screens will reveal the name and wait time of a haunted house when Halloween Horror Nights 33 begins on August 30. We don’t know which haunted house will be at this location yet.

Torture Faire

UOR USF HHN 33 Torture Faire Updates 8 16 24 7

The Torture Faire scare zone continues to take shape, as even more torture devices and props have been added. In our last update, we discovered the Terra Cruentus symbol on a themed barricade. Perhaps the Terra Queen will make an appearance this year?

While the wooden thrones on the main Torture Faire stage aren’t new, we did notice new props hanging from the scaffolding near the top left portion of the stage.

A wooden structure with ropes and pulleys, adorned with skeletal decorations and a banner featuring a sun emblem and "2024," set against a partly cloudy sky.

These props include hooks and worn-out ropes which dangle from the edge of the wooden frame.

A quiet street scene with people walking, surrounded by building facades. A large banner reads "Ye Olde Torture Faire 2024" with an axe and hammer symbol, hanging from a lamppost on the right.

We also discovered a new “Ye Olde Torture Faire 2024” flag hanging off the side of a lamppost. The flag features two axes that cross each other, forming an x.

A street lamp displaying a banner that reads "Ye Olde Torture Faire 2024" is set against a backdrop of vintage-style buildings and a clear blue sky.

Another “Ye Olde Torture Faire 2024” flag depicts the outline of a knight’s helmet.

Outdoor museum exhibit depicting a historical wooden torture device, covered in brown tarp. The background features vintage-style buildings and a red awning, with people walking nearby.

Another stage has received hay bales and wooden props. It also features a torture device called “The Breaking Wheel.” At this time, the breaking wheel is covered by a brown tarp.

A scene featuring hay bales, a wooden crate with a rope on top, an old trunk, a hammer, and a metal container is shown, all set on a wooden platform with large brown covers. A red bag is in the background.

A mallet and rope rest on top of a wooden crate next to the breaking wheel. Rats scurry behind the crate.

A large metal milk container is displayed on a bed of straw next to a black stuffed mouse, with blurred background elements including people and structures.

On the hay bale behind the crates, a black rat hides behind a metal container.

Two black birds are perched on top of a weathered sign that says "The Breaking," with a building and cloudy sky in the background.

Ravens have been added to the top of the yellow and red sign at the top of the stage.

An outdoor scene with a wooden deck area, featuring a covered object, wooden crates, hay bales, a large hammer, a bucket, and rope. People are visible in the background.

On the other side of the covered torture device, a mallet and rope lay on top of a wooden block. An overturned bucket sits in front of the box.

Wooden stage with a sign reading "The Brazen Bull" showcasing a large, metal bull structure, set outdoors on a street lined with shops.

In front of Finnegan’s Bar & Grill, a stage depicts “The Brazen Bull.” Beneath the red and yellow sign on top of the wooden frame, a bull-shaped oven stands over a bowl of coals.

Large metal steer statue in a street display. Building signs in the background include "Francura's Steakhouse" and "O'Finnigan's Pub." An American flag is visible on a lamp post.

The contraption is bolted together and the bull wears a nose ring. The handle for the oven sticks out near the top of the bull’s back.

A wooden stage with pumpkin decorations, barrels, a covered figure, and a hay bale with produce, featuring an archery target. Buildings with storefronts are in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

The final torture stage features a red and yellow sign that reads “Ye Olde Aim-n-Maim.” A colorful target sits above a hay bale covered in fruit and vegetables. Next to the target, a black tarp which is shaped oddly like a human body, hangs down from the top of the wooden frame.

A wooden basket with apples and pumpkins sits on a bale of hay, surrounded by barrels and rustic decor.

Some of the fruit that has spilled out of one of the buckets is rotten and withering away. Next to the hay bale, two arrows sit inside of a bucket.

Two wooden barrels, one smaller with a pumpkin and gourd on top, are placed on a wooden deck near a building entrance.

On one side of the stage, a rotten pumpkin and gourd sit on top of a small keg in front of a larger one. There is no plug in the bottom of the larger keg.

Sahara Traders

A display featuring crates, greenery, and various props, including an old book and vintage suitcases, is arranged around a decorated pillar in a dimly lit room. Two people are in the background.

More props have been added to the display at Sahara Traders, the exit gift shop for Revenge of the Mummy. In our last update, the box on top of the “FathomCorp” crate was tied up. Now, it’s open.

A wooden crate filled with decorative plants, vines, and a plush parrot with a red eye light. Additional crates and greenery surround the main crate.

Inside the box, a bat statue with glowing red eyes is surrounded by burlap and foliage.

A stone gargoyle figure with glowing red eyes, surrounded by foliage and red-toned lighting.

The bat is a featured item in The Museum: Deadly Exhibits haunted house which is debuting at Halloween Horror Nights 33 this year.

A photo of a hole surrounded by foliage next to a newspaper clipping with the headline, "Super Ants Threaten Snack Shops Worldwide," placed on a red surface.

A new newspaper clipping with the headline “Super Ants Threathen Snack Shops Worldwide” has been added to the collection as well. It sits next to a photograph showing a large hole in the ground.

A vintage wooden drawer contains old papers, a blue book, and a braided cord. The scene is dimly lit, with plants and other old items in the background.

A drawer is now open in front of the “Museum of Antiquities” poster. Inside the drawer are multiple books, a photograph, a memo, and a newspaper clipping.

A blue hardcover copy of "Hamlet" with an old photograph partially tucked inside, resting in a wooden drawer.

One of the books is “Hamlet.” The photograph in front of it is black and white and features leaves and grass.

A newspaper clipping titled "Collision at the Port Attributed to Superstitions" reports on a collision of three shipping vessels and mysterious weed growth, with the Museum of Antiquities involved. Memo and documents visible.

The newspaper clipping on the book behind “Hamlet” has a headline that reads, ” Collision at the Port Attributed to Superstitions.” The clipping describes flowers growing within the cargo hold of a ship.

A sign from the Museum of Antiquities requests staff to stop leaving half-opened deliveries due to theft and breakage issues, emphasizing consequences for future infractions.

A memo to “all museum staff” asks them to refrain from leaving half-opened deliveries in the museum due to theft.

A wooden framed collage features black-and-white newspaper clippings, highlighting stories on giant rats, renovations and repairs to toilets, pizzerias, warehouses, and subway stations.

Three more newspaper clippings have been stapled to the inside of a wooden frame. All three of the clippings feature bad news for residents of New York City.

Newspaper snippet about giant rats causing trouble in Midtown, affecting bathrooms and eating pizza slices. The town hall will address the issue with extreme measures on Monday.

One of the headlines warns “Giant Rats Terrorize Midtown Toilets and Pizzerias.”

Newspaper article detailing ongoing renovations at the Museum and 5th Ave stations in New York City, mentioning project delays due to overgrowth issues around the Museum station.

Another headline reads “Continued Renovations at Current Museum and 5th Ave Stations Push Forward.”

A newspaper clipping on a wooden surface with the headline "Local Warehouse Reopens After Roof Collapse Repaired." The text details the storm damage and recovery efforts for Randal's Signs and Salvage.

The final headline explains that a “Local Warehouse Reopens After Roof Collapse Repaired.”

A Quiet Place Food Booth – Sting Alley

Outdoor area with brick buildings and red wooden structures. A black signboard and a shipping container with the text "MOTION PICTURE" are also visible. Street signs mark the intersection of two streets.

A new food booth has been added outside of Sting Alley. It’s next to two red structures that are shaped like the sides of a barn. Both structures feature red doors with white trim.

An empty sidewalk booth with a red frame and a sign reading "Lennox Steel," with one-way and no parking signs nearby, situated on a street with a few people in the background.

The food booth features a “Lennox Steel” logo, a reference to “A Quiet Place.” Steel has taken over some of the design inside the red frame, though some brown paneling is still there.

A narrow cobblestone alleyway with red and blue construction barriers ahead. Brick buildings with signage for a hardware store and boxing gym are visible on either side.

We went down Sting Alley to explore other food booths and props throughout the location. We turned back to see the “Pardon our Dust” sign sitting between the two red barn-like structures.

A wooden structure with a window stands in a brick-paved alley, adjacent to a red dresser and an old brick building with metal fire escapes.

Further down the alley, a wooden facade has been erected. It’s brown with white trim and a white window.

A bright red dresser with four drawers is placed in an urban alleyway between brick buildings. A wooden frame with posters is attached above the dresser. A yellow poster is on the right wall.

Next to the facade is a red and white booth. The bottom of the booth is designed to look like a dresser with drawers.

A collage of various printed materials including advertisements, tickets, and magazine clippings arranged in a frame with a white border.

Inside the white frame at the top of the booth is a collage of images, coupons, and magazine clippings.

A metal beverage dispenser with two containers is wrapped in plastic and placed on a wooden shelf against a patterned wall. Signs in the background indicate a store.

This location will serve sangria. Two containers are wrapped in plastic on a ledge in the back of the booth. One of the containers will serve “Sangria Rosado” and the other will serve “Sangria Blanco.”

A closed wooden market stall with a red counter stands in a cobblestone alley surrounded by brick buildings and metal staircases.

As we continued through Sting Alley, we discovered another food booth. This one is also brown with white trim. The serving counter once again depicts a dresser, but this one has twice as many drawers as the sangria booth. A white curtain blocks the window.

A narrow alleyway with brick buildings, signs, and a red wooden barrier with "Be Quiet! Exit Only" painted on it. The scene appears to be a themed area with various business signs hanging above.

At the end of Sting Alley, a red fence has been erected. Gray paint reads, “Be Quiet!! Exit Only.”

Dead Coconut Club

The image shows the exterior of the Red Coconut Club, featuring colorful signage and modern architecture under a blue sky with scattered clouds. The building has a prominent central pillar, giving it an eye-catching presence reminiscent of a lively Torture Faire.

Banners have been hung from Red Coconut Club, as the location begins its transformation to Dead Coconut Club.

Two black and light blue Blumhouse banners hang on long stretches of balcony on the second floor of the club. Two blue “Dead Coconut Club” banners hang from the circular balcony above the Red Coconut Club marquee.

A banner reads "Dead Coconut Club featuring Blumhouse" hanging on a building with architectural elements visible in the background, evoking the eerie vibe of a Torture Faire.

The “Dead Coconut Club Featuring Blumhouse” banners are blue. The crossed t in “coconut” drips blood. “Coconut” is also underlined. Two fangs hang off the bottom of the underline.

The top of the banner features a set of blue and red teeth open in front of a trapezoid design. Blue blood drips from a few of the top teeth.

Figment Footprints Missing From Journey Into Imagination

The Figment footprints normally found at the exit of Journey Into Imagination With Figment are missing at EPCOT.

Figment Footprints Missing

WDW EPCOT Figment Footprints 2 1

Guests exiting Journey Into Imagination With Figment will notice that the purple dragon’s footprints are no longer lining the walls of the exit hallway. Instead, the walls on both sides of the hall are solid purple.

WDW EPCOT Figment Footprints 1

We have seen Figment’s footprints disappear in the past. Most recently, this occurred in 2016. While this led some fans to worry that the end of Figment was near, the footprints were reinstalled in 2017. No changes were made to the actual attraction.

A dimly lit corridor with several blue arrow stickers on the wall, guiding towards a door at the end. Fluorescent lights hang from the ceiling, as if leading visitors on a Journey Into Imagination.

The above photo shows what the attraction’s exit hall has looked like since 2017. Guests follow Figment’s trail from the end of the ride to ImageWorks – The “What If” Labs.

Rumors have circulated for years that the ride may get a reimagining. We even predicted that there would be an announcement at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. However, neither Figment nor the attraction were mentioned at the event. While the footprints disappearing will lead to speculation about the attraction’s future, we would be surprised if it undergoes any meaningful changes without a prior announcement. That being said, a permit was filed in April 2024 for work on the Imagination! Pavilion.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment hasn’t received a major overhaul since 2002. You can read the complete history of the attraction here.
