While on a visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this week, we confirmed that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is no longer testing a single rider line.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Ends Single Rider Test
The test began in early July 2024, and offered single riders a chance to experience the attraction with a shorter wait, with the trade-off that the line would bypass much of the storyline offered through the ride’s pre-show portions. The single rider line would skip Rey’s pre-show with BB-8 and the Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS) and take guests directly to the Star Destroyer hangar.
We confirmed with Cast Members at the attraction that this test came to an end on Monday, July 29, with the final day for single riders being Sunday, July 28. We were told that the team is still discussing the pros and cons of the offering, but for now, it’s back to waiting in line or purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass.
This is the latest change to the line at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. When the attraction first opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019, it utilized a virtual queue. That system was done away with in 2021, opting for a traditional standby queue instead. The virtual queue option returned in 2023 for the inaugural Disney Jollywood Nights event; this year, however, the virtual queue will not return and standby will be used instead.
Did you utilize the single rider line at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance during this test period? Did you prefer it to the standby queue? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
