The Ghostbusters franchise has long been a part of Halloween Horror Nights history at Universal Studios Florida, and they’ve returned in 2024 with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Based on the latest sequel film, the house brings together an ensemble crew of old, reliable characters and new blood. We’ll see if it works.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire House
A bone-chilling new specter has escaped from an ancient artifact, and he’ll stop you cold. The Ghostbusters must team up to save you and the rest of the world from a second Ice Age.
Backstory
The house is based on “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire,” which was released earlier this year. The movie brings together the casts of the original “Ghostbusters” film and 2021’s “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” with a few new stars joining the crew (namely, Kumail Nanjiani and Patton Oswalt). The group faces off against Garraka, a phantom god deadset on bringing about a second ice age.
Review of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire must have cost Universal a lot of money to put together. This house was packed with puppets, stilt-walkers, and huge sets. All were very cool. However, we didn’t find it scary in the least.
The special effects were neat, especially the proton packs and the phantom god Garraka, but we found this haunted house to be kind of middle of the road, otherwise. We also liked the many Mini-Pufts.
We’re sure we’ll get roasted for this, but this house was honestly boring. We had hoped for more scares.
