Boat Transportation Between Magic Kingdom and Grand Floridian Returns

Boat transportation between Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has returned after a short refurbishment.

Grand Floridian Boat Dock Reopens

A boat docked at a wooden pier, with people standing nearby. A white structure with a red roof is on the right. The background features a body of water and trees under a clear blue sky.

Boat transportation between the resort hotel and Magic Kingdom was initially suspended on September 9, 2024 while work was being done on the dock.

Work was expected to be completed by Saturday, September 14. It’s possible the refurbishment finished on time, but Friday was the first day we saw the boat service in operation since closing.

People walk along a wooden dock towards a boat with a canopy, docked at a small white building under a clear blue sky.

We didn’t notice any major changes to the dock, which was to be expected after such a short refurbishment. It’s likely the closure was just for basic maintenance.

While the dock was closed, guests were encouraged to take the walking path between Grand Floridian and Magic Kingdom or utilize alternative transportation, like the resort Monorail.
