On today’s visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we discovered that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is once again using a single rider line.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Single Rider Line
Back in July, we first reported that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was testing a single rider line. However, the attraction stopped offering the option on Monday, July 29. Today, we confirmed that beginning yesterday, September 20, the attraction is once again testing a single rider line.
The entrance for the single rider line is located near the attraction’s exit. A Cast Member holds a blue and white sign that reads ” Rise of the Resistance Single Rider End of Line.”
The situation is the same as it was in July. Guests will experience significantly shorter wait times by choosing the single rider line, but they will also miss out on a lot of the storyline provided during the various pre-show scenes. For example, guests won’t see Rey with BB-8, and they won’t get to ride the Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS). Instead, they will go straight to the Star Destroyer hangar.
After the Star Destroyer hangar, guests will be directed to the left lane which is only being used for single riders now. Guests were previously told to split up and use both sides of the queue.
Just like in July, we were able to enter the line and get to our jail cell in just over five minutes, significantly faster than those waiting in the 60-minute standby queue.
Disney has not announced whether they plan to make this change permanent. If they do, it wouldn’t be the first time the attraction went through a major queue change. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance used a virtual queue when it first opened on December 5, 2019. A traditional standby queue has been used since September 23, 2021.
Do you hope that the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance single rider line is permanent? Let us know in the comments.
