Canopy Completely Gone, Sign Decoration Removed From Test Track

The support structure for Test Track’s canopy has been completely removed, as has the car-like element from the attraction’s main sign. The EPCOT attraction is being reimagined for the second time.

The blue decorative element previously sat on the pole jutting out from behind the sign. The “Test Track” letters have been removed from the top of the sign and are sitting on the ground. “Presented by Chevrolet” remains for now. Chevrolet is still the ride’s sponsor but a whole new sign will be installed as part of the reimagining.

The canopy was removed in early August and its scaffolding supports began to come down soon after. Bases embedded in the sidewalk are now all that remains of the structure. Concept art for Test Track 3.0 (at the bottom of this article) shows a new solid overhang for the front of the building.

From the ground, we got a better view of the front of the building. The letters of the attraction’s name have also been removed from above the entrance.

These letters and those on the main sign lit up. They were blue, the main color of Test Track 2.0. The original version of the ride featured more yellow and orange coloring.

Test Track Presented by Chevrolet closed in June and is scheduled to reopen next year. The updated attraction will “celebrate today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future,” and will draw inspiration from World of Motion, the original EPCOT attraction Test Track replaced.
