Disney World Fans Share Their Favorite Things That Cost Nearly NOTHING in the Parks

Okay, let’s face it: going to Disney World is NOT cheap. In fact, it can be kinda’ pricey.

Let’s Celebrate!

HOWEVER, that’s not to say that you can’t get some things in Disney World ON THE CHEAP, or even for free. For example, you can get free water at most quick service restaurants. You can get free celebration buttons to celebrate special occasions in the park. You can get inexpensive upgrades for those buttons. You can also find souvenirs that won’t break the bank. So when we asked you, our DFB readers, what your favorite inexpensive or free things in Disney World are, you told us.

Here’s what they had to say!

Transportation

Perhaps the most common answer from our followers was that they LOVE taking advantage of the complimentary transportation in Disney World. In particular, our readers really enjoyed the Disney Skyliner. One person said, “It is the best. It is like a ride in itself. The first time we were there it was when Covid was ending so they were only putting one family per gondola. Me and my kids had the best times being silly in them.”

Skyliner

Readers loved the Skyliner because of its great views and the many locations you could visit while riding it. Other transportation methods that got mentions included the boats and the Monorail — so many options for visiting the resorts and hopping between the parks.

People Watching

Of course, another great way to spend NO extra money in Disney World is to do some people watching! There are quite literally thousands of people in the parks every day and sometimes just sitting down and watching the tourists pass by can be entertaining.

Crowds in EPCOT

One person said that their favorite pastime was, “Sitting and watching all the people walk by and enjoying every minute.” It doesn’t cost you anything!

Resort Hopping

You know what you can do without a park ticket? Visit the Disney World Resort hotels! It’s totally free to visit the hotels, but you might need to get a little creative, since you can’t typically park at the hotels without a reservation or a dining reservation. One great way to do this is to park at Disney Springs or a theme park and then use Disney transportation to get around.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Each of the different hotels has a unique theme and many have stunning scenery. Our readers had great things to say about several different resorts, from Yeehaw Bob at Port Orleans to the fantastic holiday decorations at the Monorail resorts. There are so many reasons to visit!

Interacting with Cast Members

One really sweet answer that several people gave is they love taking the time to interact with Cast Members in Disney World! One reader answered on Facebook, “The kindness of Cast Members and the fellowship with other Disney fans. Even when things go bad on trips, we always have at least one memorable interaction with Cast Members or other fans that makes our trip special

Cast Members

Cast Members are known for making Disney World trips extra magical with their kindness and theme park knowledge. We’re often reminded of how integral Cast Members are to the parks when we interact with them on a daily basis. Stop and have a chat with one on your next Disney trip — you might learn something!

Entertainment

Last but not least, our readers were really big fans of the complimentary entertainment in the parks, especially the streetmosphere entertainment like the Dapper Dans. They mentioned that just walking through the parks and happening upon little shows was what helped make their visits special.

Resort entertainment offerings were also mentioned a few times! You can find some special entertainment at resort restaurants or in locations like Disney’s BoardWalk. There’s no shortage of talent in Disney World!

So there you have it — our readers’ favorite no-cost things to do in Disney World! What makes your list?
