Disneyland park opened late on the morning of Wednesday, September 25, 2024, due to an oil leak in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Disneyland Opens Late After Oil Leak

Disneyland Cast Members held guests at the Esplanade while cleaning crews attended to the spill. The park was set to open at 8:00 a.m., but was delayed by about ten minutes, according to the Orange County Register. However, guests on social media were reporting that the lines didn’t start moving to let people through until about 8:18. The oil spill was reportedly from a leaking street cleaner.

When the park opened, guests were directed through a backstage route in order to bypass the spill while entering the park.
