Shanghai Disney Resort has shared an Instagram Reel of the brand-new magical recycle bin, Xiaotui.

Ready for some “trash talk”? The recycle bin, Xiaotui, has magically come to life and is entertaining guests in Tomorrowland with its witty and engaging style!

The video begins with Cast Members confining Xiaotui to a tree. Despite their best efforts, the magical recycle bin has other ideas.

A black-and-white photo of a wet street with a timestamp overlay. A tree wrapped with plastic sheeting, illuminated by ground lights, evokes a sense of the magical. Nearby is a doorway with steps and windowed walls, next to what appears to be an elegant recycle bin.

Shortly after the Cast Members leave Xiaotui, the friendly receptacle has broken free of its restraints and decides to head out and explore Shanghai Disneyland.

A clear pathway leading to a large, ornate castle surrounded by greenery, with text at the bottom reading, "Wow, this place is huge!" in both Chinese and English. Reminiscent of Shanghai Disney Resort, it feels like stepping into a magical adventure.

The recycle bin rolls its way toward Enchanted Storybook Castle, marveling at all Shanghai Disneyland has to offer.

A person wearing a white shirt and jeans is eating in front of a food kiosk with baked goods on display at Shanghai Disney Resort. The person has an ear-shaped headband and is holding a sandwich with "I'm hungry" text at the bottom.

Xiaotui makes its way over to a snack stand where one guest is enjoying a tasty treat. “I’m hungry,” the recycle bin exclaims. When the guest tries to feed it a wrapper, Xiaotui refuses it.

A woman with an animal ear headband and a snack and drink stands beside a vending stall with a sign reading "Xiaotui loves to eat bottles" in both Chinese and English, reminiscent of the whimsical touches seen at Shanghai Disney Resort’s Magical Recycle Bin.

Xiaotui lets the guest know its preferred treat. The guest then finishes her water and puts the bottle in the recycle bin. Xiaotui thanks the guest for the bottle and makes satisfied eating noises.

A magical recycle bin labeled "Recyclable Waste" with symbols for plastic bottles, paper, packaging, and metal cans, set in an outdoor area with trees and buildings in the background at the enchanting Shanghai Disney Resort.

You can check out what other shenanigans Xiaotui the magical recycle bin got up to at Shanghai Disney Resort by watching the full Instagram Reel.

Xiaotui the magical recycle bin is similar to PUSH the talking trash can which entertained Magic Kingdom visitors from 1995 to 2014. Like PUSH, Xiaotui will move around the park and interact with visitors even when they aren’t throwing out trash.

Electric Umbrella at EPCOT used to have a talking trash can, but the receptacle didn’t move around the park and only interacted with guests when they threw out their trash. After being briefly retired when Future World was gutted, the talking trash can reappeared at the Odyssey Pavilion in 2022.
