Metal Framework Goes Vertical for Haunted Mansion Carriage House Shop at Disneyland

As work continues on the grounds expansion for the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Park, metal framework has gone vertical for the new carriage house-themed retail space.

We spotted the framework for the new shop while visiting Disneyland Park over the weekend on September 14.

Previously released concept art shows the gable roof with a window and flower box on the upper floor. Mystical curtains and exterior decor can be spotted, with a warm magenta interior inviting guests to shop. In the story for the attraction and its expansion, this shop belongs to Madame Leota.

As you can see, the framing is virtually identical to the concept art. The gabled roof flares out the same as the art, and the large opening at the top marks where the window and flowerbox will eventually be.

We can also spot some rounded framework, possibly for more windows. There are diamond-shaped windows on the front of the structure

From another angle, we can see the scale of the new carriage house in comparison to the mansion. Sidewalk near the mansion was demolished in July to make way for this new shop. The original Haunted Mansion queue was flattened in February.

The carriage house also backs up to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction. Here, you can easily spot the water tower for Tiana’s Foods.

Past the walls, various construction equipment is staged, along with lifts. These are likely to help with work on the upper portion of the build and its roof.

A small wood structure, likely a door, is set up here on the ground. It likely won’t be long until walls go up and the theming of the structure begins.

Further details of this new Haunted Mansion carriage house shop have not been released, but the original announcement stated that the shop and expanded queue would open sometime this year. Of course, the timing can always change.

The Haunted Mansion is currently open to guests via virtual queue as Haunted Mansion Holiday while the grounds expansion construction continues. The ride initially closed in January 2024 to begin construction on the new queue and shop.

The regular version of the attraction will likely return in January 2025. Rumors suggest that the hanging corpse in the Stretching Room scene may not return, along with other changes.
