New Pirates of the Caribbean Figure by Kevin and Jody Coming to Disneyland Paris in October

A new limited-edition Pirates of the Caribbean figure depicting the Auctioneer is coming to Disneyland Paris in October.

Pirates of the Caribbean Figure

A detailed figurine of a pirate in a blue coat stands with one foot on a treasure chest. The base reads "Pirates of the Caribbean." A rocky waterfall is in the background, reminiscent of the iconic attraction at Disneyland Paris in October.

Via an Instagram post, Disneyland Paris Shopping announced a new Pirates of the Caribbean figure coming to Disneyland Paris on October 2. The limited-edition item was created by artists Kevin and Jody and is limited to 1,000 pieces.

The figure depicts the Auctioneer in his black pirate hat and blue clothing, with a large gold medallion necklace full of rubies. He carries his sword and stands atop a treasure chest and gold coins that have spilled out. The bottom of the figure features a black and gold “Pirates of the Caribbean” sign.

The figure will be available for purchase at Le Coffre du Capitaine in Adventureland and Harrington’s Fine China and Procelains on Main Street, U.S.A. The price for the new collectible is unknown at this time.

Kevin and Jody have released numerous Disney collectibles, including a Phantom Manor Stationmaster figure, a Phantom Manor facade figure, and a Phantom Manor Mayor figure.

What do you think of the new Pirates of the Caribbean figure? Will you be adding the Auctioneer to your collection? Let us know in the comments.

Why Is NOBODY Talking About This Disney World Restaurant That’s About to Permanently Shut Down?

In case you didn’t know, you’ve really got a ton of options when it comes to dining at Disney World!

Aunt Polly’s

To be sure you’ve got your standard theme park fare, but you can also find a wide variety of food — from All-American classics to tastes from the Caribbean and Asia and even more. Now, if you’re in Magic Kingdom, there’s this one spot you might not even know existed and it’s about it shut down permanently, so you know we’ve got to tell you all about it!

As we were saying, there’s this one restaurant at Magic Kingdom that’s going to be permanently closing in 2025. We’re talking about Aunt Polly’s, and we’ve gotta have a chat about it (since no one else is)!

The Magic Kingdom Restaurant You Probably Didn’t Even Know Existed

Let’s be real. If you didn’t know Aunt Polly’s existed, you’re not alone. This adorable dockside restaurant is tucked away on Tom Sawyer Island, which is only accessible by raft by the way. Also, it’s been notoriously seasonal, and by seasonal we mean “rarely ever open.”

Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island itself is typically open from 10AM to 4:30PM, but Aunt Polly’s? That window gets even smaller! It was open on only the busiest of Disney World days, and usually only from 11AM to 3PM. In fact, it has been 2+ years since we’ve seen it open at all. So, if you managed to snag a snack here, consider yourself lucky!

Aunt Polly’s

That being said, this little quick-service spot holds a special place in our hearts. And if you’ve tasted the food, you’ll understand why this is such a loss.

Wait. What’s Happening to Tom Sawyer Island?

So in case you didn’t know, all of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America are being taken out to make room for the brand-new Cars area in Frontierland.

©Disney

Starting in 2025, Disney will be transforming this area into a new and unique land themed around the Cars franchise. While we’re excited about new land and all that’s coming there, we can’t help but feel a little heartbroken to say goodbye to such an overlooked gem.

Why We’re Going to Miss Aunt Polly’s

We’re definitely going to miss the food. Even though Aunt Polly’s might be small and seasonal, it served up some seriously delicious eats.

  • Becky’s Buttery Biscuit Barbecued Pork Sliders: We can’t get over how hearty these sliders were. Instead of typical slider rolls, they used these thick, buttery biscuits that were perfect for soaking up all the saucy goodness of the shredded BBQ pork. Also, if you’re into a little heat, the Cajun house-made chips on the side had just enough spice to give it some kick!

Becky’s Buttery Biscuit Barbecued Pork Sliders

  • Peanut Butter Sandwiches: These weren’t your average PB&J sandwiches. At Aunt Polly’s, you could choose between raspberry preserves or chocolate hazelnut spread and a sliced banana tucked inside. It’s like the comfort food you didn’t know you needed, and now, we’re already craving it.

Aunt Polly’s Menu

  • Aunt Polly’s Root Beer Float: What an absolute classic. This float was made with Barq’s Root Beer and creamy vanilla ice cream, and was the perfect refreshing treat to enjoy while you watch the Liberty Belle gently float by on the Rivers of America. It’s simple, nostalgic, and oh-so-delicious.

Why No One’s Talking About It (But Should Be!)

Again, because Aunt Polly’s was open so rarely and required a raft ride to get to, it just wasn’t on most people’s radar, and that’s exactly why this closure feels so bittersweet. While some folks never even had the chance to try it, those of us who did know what an underrated gem it was.

Aunt Polly’s

So here’s a heads up: if you’re visiting Disney World by or before 2025, make it a point to get over to Tom Sawyer Island. Maybe you’ll get super lucky and find Aunt Polly’s open! After that, this quaint little dockside retreat will only exist in our Disney World memories.

Rivers of America and Aunt Polly’s

Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest from Disney World! We’ve got you covered!

The Poncho Mistake Everyone Makes in Disney World

If you’ve been to Disney World, you know that sometimes, the unexpected just happens.

Check out that flooding!

By unexpected, we’re talking about the things that aren’t the most “magical” that happen when you’re least prepared for them. Now, if you’re getting ready for your first trip ever to Disney World, there’s this one mistake that so many people make that would help tremendously in one specific unexpected scenario. We don’t want that to be you, so let’s talk about it.

As we were saying, so many people make the mistake of thinking that Florida won’t rain on them during their Disney World trip and they end up not bringing a poncho with them. So what inevitably happens is that during the afternoon, the sky opens up and starts dumping gallons of rain and these same folks make mad dashes for the nearest shop desperate for shelter and a poncho. What they’re greeted with is a less-than-sturdy poncho and a hefty price tag.

Rainy Day

Like we’re saying, we don’t want you to make the same poncho mistake (not bringing your own poncho and then paying theme park prices when you don’t have to). That being said, if you didn’t bring your own, I get it. It can feel like you’re lugging around a poncho “just in case” when you’re trying to stay cute and comfy in the parks.

Rainy day in Magic Kingdom

But if you’re already at Disney World, and rain is in the forecast, there’s a quick hack that could save you a bunch of money, and it’s hiding right in plain sight. We’re talking about heading over to the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel!

Swan Hotel

The $3 Poncho You Didn’t Know Existed

Here’s the secret: at Java in the Swan Hotel (yes, those fancy-looking resorts just outside EPCOT and Hollywood Studios), you can snag a poncho for just three (3) bucks! Yup, you read that right $3! It comes folded up in this little plastic sleeve.

Rain Poncho

In some cases that’s like 75% cheaper than the ones you might find in the gift shops at the parks.

Rain Poncho

The catch? Well, you’ve got to make your way over to the Swan to grab one.

Java at the Swan Hotel

But don’t worry, even if you’re not staying at the Swan and Dolphin, this trip is totally doable. Plus, a visit to these hotels isn’t exactly a bad time. The architecture is gorgeous.

Swan Resort

Also, it’s just a short hop from EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, which makes for a chill little side trip during your day.

It’s Going to be a Rainy Day Life-Saver

Honestly, it rains a lot at Disney World, and if you’re not prepared, you’ll end up dropping unnecessary dollars on an overpriced poncho just to avoid getting soaked (or worse, drenched and then freezing in that A/C). That’s something we don’t won’t to happen to you.

Rain at Magic Kingdom

Sure, you can grab a poncho from your local dollar store or Amazon before your trip, but let’s face it, most of us forget to do that. So, when that inevitable downpour hits, remember this tip and don’t be afraid to hop over to the Swan Hotel.

Rain Poncho

You’ll save a ton of cash that you can spend on something way more fun like churros, souvenirs, or even another Dole Whip!

CONFIRMED: Lightning Lane Prices Have DROPPED in Disney World Today!

Paying to skip the lines in Disney World isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it is a great way to save time on your Disney World day.

Goodbye Genie+

We don’t recommend Lightning Lane Multi Pass (formerly Genie+) for all the parks if you’re on a multiple-day trip. Still, we definitely think it’s a must-grab if you’re trying to do all the rides you can in Magic Kingdom or Disney’s Hollywood Studios without waiting too long. If you’re in the parks today, we have great news — the prices have dropped!

Today, September 29th, you can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for one of the lowest prices we’ve seen since the service debuted in July. Below are the prices you’ll find the service for today:

  • Magic Kingdom Multi Pass: $20
  • EPCOT Multi Pass: $15
  • Hollywood Studios Multi Pass: $20
  • Animal Kingdom Multi Pass: $15

©Disney

If you’re looking to get on some of the most popular attractions in each park by skipping the lines, you’ll want to purchase Lightning Lane Single Pass. These prices are also some of the lowest we’ve seen in a very long time (except TRON) — today, those prices look like:

©Disney

The last time Multi Pass prices dropped like this was during Labor Day Weekend (we know, unexpected!). If you’re still a little confused about what Lightning Lane Multi Pass is, don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is an optional paid service available through the My Disney Experience app, which allows you to bypass standby lines and enter the Lightning Lane at select attractions in the parks by paying a base price for multiple attractions. The price varies depending on the day and which park you are making your initial selections for. However, if you have park hopping as part of your ticket, you’ll pay the price for the park you start in and then can use it in any park you hop to at no additional cost.

©Disney

With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you can make up to 3 Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections in a park in advance of your visit OR 7 days in advance if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel. Additionally, as you use your initial selections, you can make additional selections so you can hold up to 3 Lighting Lane Multi Pass selections at a time.

Don’t worry, we’re here to make sure you understand these new systems and how best to take advantage of them, so check out our full guides about the new service and our video dedicated to everything you need to know about Lightning Lane Multi Pass!

Fans Raise Wands at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Honor of Dame Maggie Smith’s Passing

On Saturday, September 28, guests gathered outside of Hogwarts Castle to raise their wands and honor the passing of Dame Maggie Smith.

Wands Up for Dame Maggie Smith

A large crowd of fans honor the Wizarding World of Harry Potter as they view a nighttime castle, illuminated with spotlights against the dark sky.

In a TikTok video shared by sarah.webb22, guests were seen gathered outside of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure with wands held high in the air, as the life of Dame Maggie Smith was honored. Smith, who was 89, played Professor McGonagall in the “Harry Potter” films.

In the video, Hogwarts is lit up and spotlights shine high into the night sky. Music from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows -Part 2” rings out, as Smith’s Professor McGonagall shouts her famous line, “Man the boundaries. Protect us. Do your duty to our school!”

The full video, which has over 3.6 million views, can be found below.

These types of gatherings have become a tradition for “Harry Potter” fans when actors from the series pass away. Most recently, Michael Gambon, who played Albus Dumbledore in the majority of the “Harry Potter” films, was honored. Similar gatherings were held to honor Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) in 2022 and Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) in 2016.

The custom of raising wands originated in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” after the passing of Albus Dumbledore.

Smith earned two Oscars during her acting career. Her first came for her role in “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” (1970) and her second came as Best Supporting Actress in “California Suite” (1979). She was also nominated for Best Actress for “Travels With My Aunt” (1972), and for Best Supporting Actress in “Othello” (1965), “A Room With a View” (1985), and “Gosford Park” (2001).

Smith also earned three Best Supporting Actress Emmys for her role as Violet Crawley in “Downton Abbey.”

Guests Can Once Again Ride in the Back of the Disneyland Monorail

For the first time since before the COVID-19 pandemic, guests can ride in the back of the Disneyland Monorail.

Disneyland Monorail

A man stands by the door of a colorful Disneyland Monorail train at the station. The train is preparing to depart, and the station area, filled with eager guests, is bathed in sunlight.

Earlier this month, the front of the Disneyland Monorail opened to guests for the first time since before COVID-19. Now, all the seats on the attraction are open, as guests can finally ride in the “tail cone” again.

Just like with the front cabin, there is no separate line to ride in the “tail cone.” If you’d like to ride in the section and it fills up, you can ask Cast Members if you can wait for the next ride.

A close-up view of a gray, slightly damaged metal surface with a torn seam and visible wear marks, reminiscent of the well-worn interiors experienced by guests who ride in the back of the Disneyland Monorail.

While we were happy that the back cabin was finally open again, it was disappointing to see the lack of upkeep inside. As you can see from the above photo, there are definitely some areas of the structure that could use some TLC.

A theme park scene featuring the iconic Disneyland Monorail gliding above a lagoon with submarines, while guests explore various futuristic buildings and attractions under a clear sky.

The glass was also incredibly dirty, so the views weren’t nearly as stunning as they could have been. Additionally, all but one of the speakers was blown out.

A view from the back seats of the Disneyland Monorail approaching a station platform at a building entrance surrounded by trees, with a hotel visible in the background and ride guests eagerly awaiting their journey.

With all of that said, the “tail cone” still offers interesting vantage points and views from around the park. You get a long and unobstructed view as you move away from different locations, rather than viewing them as they go by. The above photo shows us exiting Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

A Disneyland Monorail track curves through a wooded area, flanked by trees and a hillside. Sunlight filters through the foliage, casting shadows on the tracks below. Guests ride comfortably as a red flag is visible on the left side.

We also got a good look at the construction taking place on the Disneyland Railroad. The attraction has been closed since August 5, 2024. We noticed that there is currently no track between Mickey’s Toontown and Tomorrowland.

A sleek, futuristic Disneyland Monorail is stationed on a concrete track against a backdrop of palm trees and clear blue sky. Excited guests can be seen in the background, eagerly awaiting their ride.

Overall, the “tail cone” would benefit from some maintenance to clean the glass, fix the speakers, and make the interior nicer. The ride also isn’t as interesting as sitting in the “nose cone,” as you don’t get to travel with the pilot. However, if you want a relaxing and unique ride on the Disneyland Monorail then the “tail cone” is worth a try.

Watch our full-ride POV from the back of the Disneyland Monorail:
