Walt Disney World

Magic Kingdom

• During a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we noticed new recycling bins on Main Street, U.S.A.
• Just five days ago, we updated you on the progress the themed pavement was making in Adventureland, and already more has been added.

EPCOT

• On our most recent visit to Test Track in EPCOT, we noticed a plastic tarp and structural support boards in the demolished concrete space at the front entrance of the attraction.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

• We braved Hurricane Helene for a photo report of Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

• The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has given Walt Disney World permission for a mobile crane to construct a 10-story hotel near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
• Construction of The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s Boardwalk is finally nearing completion. Crews have been installing gutters and testing newly installed lighting fixtures.

New Merchandise

Other Walt Disney World News

• A Tornado Watch is in effect for parts of Central Florida, including Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort, due to Hurricane Helene.
• Walt Disney World prepared for severe weather as Hurricane Helene moved past Central Florida and towards the panhandle.
• Though select Walt Disney World tours were initially listed as canceled due to Hurricane Helene, they have been removed from the list of cancellations.
• The race courses for the 2024 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend have been released.
• Walt Disney World has announced that all nighttime spectaculars have been canceled on Thursday, September 26 due to Hurricane Helene.

Disneyland Resort

• The Scary Teddy popcorn bucket, which has been available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World since September 2, 2024, and a Madame Leota straw clip will be available at Disneyland Resort in October.
• Just days after being arrested and dragged out of Disney California Adventure Park for lying about her kid’s ages, Jessica Diaz has responded via TikTok and announced her intentions to sue Disneyland. (via OC Register)

• Shanghai Disneyland shared a first look at character costumes for Halloween Time 2024, including what Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps will wear for the first-ever “Howl-o-ween” Festival in Zootopia.

• Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Wonder has canceled an upcoming stop at Nouméa, New Caledonia due to civil unrest in the French territory.
• The Disney Fantasy spent an extra day at sea this week due to Hurricane Helene moving through the Cayman Islands.
• Due to Hurricane Helene, Port Canaveral has temporarily closed and Disney Wish will now arrive in port later than initially scheduled.

Entertainment and Media

• Disney, Fox Corp., and Warner Bros. Discovery’s joint sports streaming venture, Venu Sports, filed an appeal requesting permission to resume its launch plans after Fubo successfully blocked them with an antitrust lawsuit.

Universal Studios

• Universal Orlando Resort canceled Halloween Horror Nights on Thursday, September 26 due to severe weather from Hurricane Helene.
• Universal Studios Hollywood announced that “Harry Potter” will be celebrated during Universal Fan Fest Nights in spring 2025.

Arrested Mom Threatens to Sue Disneyland

Jessica Diaz, the woman who was arrested and dragged out of Disney California Adventure Park on Tuesday, September 24 for sneaking her children into the park for free, has posted two videos on TikTok under the user name Diaz.V8.

Disneyland security and cast members surround Diaz in the first video. The caption reads:

Storytime? It suck social media is full of lies and hate. #disneyland #californiaadventure #worstday

The second video shows a short clip of Diaz’s two daughters riding a carousel. It has the following caption:

The worst way to end the month thankfully my daughters are safe Las amo! I would die if anything ever happened to them #becareful #stayvigilant #alwaysupervise #trustnobody #fyp #singlemom #worstnightmare #godisgood

The two videos have over 1,600 combined comments. When one commenter asked Diaz if she plans on seeking legal action, she responded, “For sure suing.”

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park allow children under 3 to enter for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Proof of age is not required, and the policy runs on an honor system.

Diaz claimed that her children were under 3, though Disneyland officials claim the children are older. They also state that Diaz has tried to sneak her children in four times in the last two months. The OC Register states that the children are 3 and 4 years old.

While some TikTok commenters were concerned for the safety of Diaz’s daughters, others blamed her for putting her kids through the ordeal. Diaz responded to one commenter by saying, “If u don’t know respectfully u shouldn’t say anything.”

On Tuesday, Diaz was given the option to buy tickets for her children, but she refused. She was then uncooperative with Disneyland security and the Anaheim Police Department which led to her being booked and released with a citation.
