Adventureland Pavement Refurbishment Already Past Swiss Family Treehouse

Just five days ago, we updated you on the progress the themed pavement was making in Adventureland, and already more has been added.

Previously in Adventureland

A roped-off area in an outdoor setting with buildings, trees, and people walking in the background.

Here, you can see where our previous update ended. The last space that was completed was at the entrance of the Swiss Family Treehouse. There is even some scoring still in the grey concrete, which is where our update continues.

Adventureland Pavement Update

People walk and push strollers on a partially unpaved path in a sunny area with buildings and vegetation. A rope barrier is in the foreground.

The newest space of pavement to have been completed in Adventureland is right next to our previous update, past the canons of the Swiss Family Treehouse and just before The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

An outdoor walkway bordered by shops and trees with scattered visitors strolling under a clear sky. A rope barrier and shadowed areas are visible on the ground.

Here is the other angle of the newest themed pavement section. It features many of the same qualities as our previous updates. There is green moss closer to the side of the walkway, and you can see pebbles and tracks throughout the pavement.

A roped-off dirt area in an outdoor space, casting shadow of trees and surrounded by people walking on a paved path in the background.

It does appear that the concrete lightens as it dries and looks a bit more dusty than muddy. The distressed look matches some of the weathering already done on the Adventureland facades.

A shaded outdoor seating area with wooden beams and tables, adjacent to a walkway that has some strollers parked nearby. Trees and plants surround the seating area.

Here, you can really see those hidden details in the pavement. There are cart tracks, animal footprints, and more hidden in the intentionally “cracking” pavement.

People walk along a winding path in a lush outdoor setting with various plants and trees; some buildings are visible in the background.

While the refurbishment has caused a few bottleneck situations in the land since its start, crews appear to continue working on one side of the walkway at a time to minimize effects on guest flow.

Have you been keeping up with the Adventureland pavement refurbishment? What do you think of the new look? Let us know in the comments, and check out all of our past updates on this project.

Test Track Entrance Sees Minor Structural Progress at EPCOT

On our most recent visit to Test Track in EPCOT, we noticed a plastic tarp and structural support boards in the demolished concrete space at the front entrance of the attraction.

Previously at Test Track

A construction site with heavy machinery and building materials under a cloudy sky. Barriers with "Test Track" signage enclose parts of the area. Trees and a modern building are in the background.

The EPCOT attraction is closed for a major reimagining and the entrance area is being completely redone. The canopy was removed last month, making way for pavement work. In our previous update, we reported that the pathway directly in front of the entrance was demolished. After that update, we received a lot of rain in Orlando so not much progress had been made to the exterior.

In the picture above, you can see the mud hole that the entrance became after a rainy night in Orlando.

Test Track Update

Construction site near a glass-fronted building, with fenced-off areas, machinery, and workers. A sign reads "Test Track Chevrolet Coming Soon." Green landscaping is visible in the foreground.

This week, we noticed that the entrance of the Test Track attraction was dry. The once muddy hole now has some plywood and platforms inside it. It looks like the configurations are for structural support framing.

Construction site with green cranes and various construction materials outside a large, modern building. Workers are present, and part of the area is cordoned off for ongoing work.

Here is a better view of the framing. There are even steal rods in the center of the wooden frames. We’re not sure if the plastic tarp is a leftover from the rain or in preparation for the impending Hurricane Helene. Either way, there is a tarp in place to better protect the newly installed structures.

Construction site with several green vehicles and workers in front of a modern building on a sunny day. Equipment and materials are placed around the area, with trees in the background.

Crew members were planning their next moves while sitting on a structure in the hole in front of the Test Track attraction.

This is possibly the structural support for the future entrance canopy, which is much smaller than the one we had before. Stay tuned to our website for more updates on the Test Track refurbishment and more in Walt Disney World.

Concept art of the reimagined Test Track attraction at EPCOT, showcasing a futuristic building with people walking toward the entrance. The sign reads "Test Track Presented by Chevrolet," hinting at its 2025 debut.

Test Track is scheduled to reopen in 2025. This is the attraction’s second major update. The original version opened in 1998, replacing World of Motion. It was reimagined into Test Track 2.0 in 2012. 3.0 will draw inspiration from World of Motion and “celebrate today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.”

A group of people riding in an autonomous vehicle on a forested track at night, with bright lights illuminating the background, experience the reimagined test track. This futuristic journey transports them to 2025, capturing the innovative spirit of EPCOT.
