Howdy Hey from Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Today I found some interesting things lingering in the park. After a morning in Hollywood Studios, I went to Disney Springs for a quick shopping trip at our favorite Disney merchandise hotspots.
Cast Member Welcome
Custodial Cast Members lined the left side of the street this morning handing out maps and buttons, answering questions, and celebrating with the first guests. It was the perfect start after another hectic rope drop.
Medium Crowds
I would say today had medium crowd levels. It wasn’t as crazy as it’s been, but not as quiet as it could be either. The weather was fantastic today. I don’t even think it got into the nineties.
Good Morning Gertie!
One of my favorite spots in Hollywood Studios is definitely around Lake Echo, espcially first thing in the morning. The ducks were still sleeping when I zipped by. If that doesn’t indicate how nice this morning was, I don’t know what will,
Star Wars Merchandise
At Tatooine Traders there were still limited edition Speedracers available for purchase. They even had one on display, which I thought was pretty brave considering how crowded the small store can be. These are currently sold out on DisneyStore.com.
I also spotted a figure new to the parks, as Darth Sidious was available for $24.99.
Baseline Box
During my last visit to Hollywood Studios, there was a giant box in the seating area outside Baseline Tap House. Now there is a wooden board where the box was. I am happy that the seating is more open again, but I am curious what might be going on. Let me know what you think it may be in the comments below.
More Interesting to me is that this exact spot had a box in December of last year.
Muppets Courtyard
Just in case the Muppets are replaced, I stopped by to see how things were going. There was no wait for Muppet-Vision 3D.
Galaxy’s Edge – Rey
Rey pulled a special Jedi away from the crowds to customize that guest’s story. It was a really cool “magical” moment to see. “Childless Millennials” deserve moments too.
Woody’s Lunch Box Sad Show Seating
Woody’s Lunch Box seating remains in Galaxy’s Edge as the dirt patch next to the quick service restaurant remains untouched. I appreciate the effort, and comfort is important, but dang, does it look wrong.
Fun with Frozone
When I went to Pixar Street just outside of Toy Story Land I saw Frozone playing Pat-A-Cake with his attendant.
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here. I need help. Someone with more pull than me please convince Disney to fix these posters. I’m not asking for the 3D features on the main sign to be refurbished, just get the scrim replaced. I promise there is no filter on that billboard on the right, it’s genuinely that washed out.
Themed Traffic Signal Missing Again
The directional traffic signal that jump scares me at least once per visit is gone again. It’s not unusual for these to get refurbished, but I am excited for it to come back.
Photo Op at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
The wait at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster was only 45 minutes when I passed by just before noon. This entryway always makes me feel 10 years old. I used to make my mom ride this over and over again.
Disney Ever After Chair?!
The chair at Disney Ever After has been changed! There used to be plushes on the sides and arms and even below. The cushion was blue, but now it’s essentially pink duct tape. Ew. Hopefully this is just temporary. Stay tuned to the photo reports for updates.
Haunted Mansion Glass Sets – $99.00 each
The Arribas Brothers released two new glass sets inspired by The Haunted Mansion. For more details, be sure to visit our website. Personally, I preferred the set with Leota, the hitchiking ghosts together, and the crest. Let me know which one you like more in the comments.
Pin Traders in Disney Springs
A few weeks ago I noticed they raised the price of mystery open pin edition sets to $22.99. The newest set is no exception, but at least it’s cute. It features Stitch, Donald, Pooh, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Daisy, Pluto, Mickey, and Minnie.
I also spotted a new Coronado Springs Resort pin for $12.99, a Minnie Mexico Pavilion pin for $14.99, and Minnie France Pavilion pin for $12.99.
Rainforest Café
Rainforest Café is one of my favorite spots here at Disney Springs. If you haven’t been to the Lava Lounge at night, it’s magical. I couldn’t resist when I spotted these two embroidered shirts for $35.00 each – I love that embroidered shirts have made such a comeback.
That’s it for today’s photo report! Do you have a favorite shop or restaurant in Disney Springs? Let me know in the comments below!
