On a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we discovered that scrims have been added around the City Hall restrooms near the park entrance.
City Hall Restrooms Construction
At City Hall, scrims have been added in the middle area between the men’s and women’s restrooms. Scrims can also be found along the walls on each side of the building, running right up to the restroom entrances. We first mentioned this in our September 20 Magic Kingdom photo report.
Themed scrim that looks like a blue sky with fluffy white clouds has been added to the top of the building, as the general maintenance is performed on the space.
A closer look at the scrim running alongside the wall outside the women’s restroom reveals that the wall is getting a little bit of work done. Normally, this wall has four windows with brick between each, but it looks like some of the brick is missing in the photo above.
The scrim along the wall leading to the entrance of the men’s restroom once again covers columns and windows. The scrim runs behind the handrail of the ramp, then juts out at the top of the slight incline.
As seen in the picture above, the tree that sticks up through the opening in the roof of the building is completely surrounded by scrims. Thanks to the sunlight, we were able to catch a glimpse of the scaffolding surrounding the tree and holding it in place during construction.
This also explains why the blue-sky scrim had to be added at the top of the building. It’s preventing guests from seeing the scrim and scaffolding surrounding the tree since the construction equipment sticks up higher than the tallest point of the building.
