The day before Hurricane Helene is expected to hit Florida the scrim has been removed from the scaffolding near the City Hall Restrooms in Magic Kingdom.
City Hall Restrooms Construction
Only a few days ago we reported at City Hall, that scrims had been added in the middle area between the men’s and women’s restrooms. Scrims were along the walls on each side of the building, running right up to the restroom entrances.
Scrims Removed
Today, the day before Hurricane Helene is expected to affect Florida Disney has removed the scrim from the scaffolding at the top of the building. The scrim remains around scaffolding on the restroom wall pathways and the center.
Disney often makes adjustments in the park to protect their guests and property from the elements. This is likely in preparation for the expected high winds over the next few days. By removing the scrim, Disney allows air and small debris to fly through more freely and do less damage.
Already Disney has announced that Typhoon Lagoon will be temporarily closed tomorrow, September 26, 2024, due to Hurricane Helene. They have also canceled select tours and mini-golf games due to the Hurricane.
Most upsetting is the cancelation of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tomorrow night, September 26, 2024.
Stay tuned to our website for the most up-to-date changes made to the Walt Disney World parks in preparation for Hurricane Helene. This is the only Hurricane preparation we have seen in the parks other than the closures.
