Halloween at Tokyo Disneyland runs from October 1 – November 7, but The Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare overlay returned on September 19 and will run through January 13.
The Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare
In the stretching room, the main portrait has been replaced with Jack Skellington in his Santa Clause costume.
On the ceiling, a giant Jack Skellington wearing a Santa Clause hat looms over taking up the entire ceiling.
As the ride begins you are greeted by Jack, Sally and the Vampire Teddy.
In the library where the busts are located is Zero decorating the Christmas Tree of books with some garland.
In the piano room, Vampire Teddy ferociously plays piano as Sally looks on.
Oogie Boogie can be seen in his spotlight in different dancing poses.
In the endless hallway, there is a pile of bones as a present for Zero wrapped in ribbon matching Jack’s normal clothes.
There is even a cameo by the iconic monster wreath with glowing eyes.
Leota remains, but Lock, Shock, and Barrel can be seen just outside the window.
In the ballroom Zero dances above while the other ghosts continue the party below. In the window behind Zero, you can see Jack handing Sally a small Christmas present.
The graveyard has been dusted in snow and taken over by the Pumpkin King. The jack-o-lanterns in the curled snow glow ominously on and off.
Opposite of the graveyard in a tree, Vampire Teddy can be seen chaotically hanging Christmas lights.
Rather than the Caretaker and his dog at the base of the descent, it is Jack and Zero. Jack is still wearing his Santa Claus costume holding a sack of toys.
Zero floats at Jack’s feet, similar to the Caretaker’s pup.
The band was still playing in the graveyard, however, they were playing music from “Nightmare Before Christmas” instead of their typical Haunted Mansion tunes.
Rather than the singing busts there were singing jack-o-lanterns.
There is also a reindeer skeleton flying just above your head, likely gearing up for Jack’s big debut as Santa Claus.
Instead of the Hitchhiking Ghosts, Lock, Shock, and Barrel are seen popping out from holiday gifts.
It only makes sense that these three would be the ghouls catching a ride out with you.
Miniature Leota has been replaced with a scene of Sally looking on as Jack flies over the moon to deliver presents as Santa Claus.
