A video shared to Instagram by @the.worden.fam, shows the moment that two barges crashed into each other during one of the October 25 performances of “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Two Fantasmic! Barges Crash
On October 25, two barges crashed into each other during “Fantasmic!” at Walt Disney World. One barge carried Prince Eric and Ariel, while the other carried Belle and Beast. The two barges approached each other, but rather than passing by one another as they usually do, there was a malfunction and the two collided.
The above image shows the moment just before the crash happened. Belle and Beast have yet to embrace, as they have just begun their dance together. Beast bows and Belle curtsies, and then the collision takes place.
Belle loses her balance and falls to the ground. Impressively, she never breaks eye contact with Beast, as she braces herself in a seated position.
Beast immediately rushes over to help Belle up, extending his hand to her. She rises to her feet with his assistance, and without missing a beat, the two begin dancing again as if nothing happened.
Neither Ariel nor Prince Eric fell during the incident, and they continued to look lovingly into each other’s eyes, as Belle and Beast sorted through the incident and began their dance together.
As the barge continued through the lagoon, the crowd rightfully erupted in applause for Belle and Beast, as the two safely made it through the remainder of their scene. The show continued without issue.

This summer, a TikTok video showed the moment that a pyro malfunction led to a dangerous situation for Mickey Mouse during “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland. That came just one month after Mickey fell onstage.
