On a recent visit to EPCOT, we discovered the Figment footprints, which have been missing since August, are back.
Figment Footprints Return
Since mid-August the walls that lead from the end of Journey Into Imagination With Figment to the ImageWorks – The “What If” Labs have been solid purple as shown above.
Now, guests can celebrate the return of Figment’s footprints, as they have been repainted on the walls, once again guiding guests down the hallway. The footprints look exactly as they did before the walls received a new coat of purple paint.
This marks the second time that the footprints were painted over and then were repainted with no changes. The previous occurrence happened in 2016. The footprints were ultimately repainted in 2017.
For years, rumors have circulated that Journey Into Imagination With Figment could be getting a reimagining. However, while minor changes and updates have occurred over the last few years, the attraction hasn’t undergone any major changes.
Earlier this year, we predicted that there would be an announcement regarding the attraction at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Nothing regarding the ride was announced, and the attraction looks to be staying in its current form for the immediate future.
Check out the full history of Journey Into Imagination, as we explain all the major changes the attraction has gone through over its 40+ years of existence.
Also inside the Imagination! Pavilion, the newly refurbished Disney Vacation Club ImaginAtrium – A Member Lounge soft opened on October 26. It will officially open later this week.
