FIRST LOOK Inside Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree at Disneyland

Disneyland has shared a first look inside Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree, a new Country Bear-themed restaurant.

In the social media video embedded below, Disney gives us a glimpse of Country Bear portraits on the walls inside Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree. These include framed artwork of Country Bears Gomer, Big Al, and Teddi Bara.

One shot includes a good look at the Ursus H. Bear mural we previously spotted from afar. Ursus H. Bear is the founder of Grizzly Hall and the Country Bear Jamboree. The mural calls him the “Grr-ill Master” of Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree.

At the Hungry Bear Barbecue, trays of burgers, fries, coleslaw, and sliced beef are set on an outdoor table near Disneyland.
First look at a delightful glass of layered dessert with caramel pieces, alongside a paper bag filled with churros, all set on a wooden table. It's like finding a hidden snack treasure at the Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree in Disneyland.

Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree is a Country Bear Jamboree-themed reimagining of the former Hungry Bear Restaurant at Disneyland Park. The menu takes inspiration from the “regional barbecue dishes the Country Bears discovered while on tour.” The name is a reference to the Country Bear Musical Jamboree at Magic Kingdom, which opened earlier this summer.

The venue will open to guests on October 25 with its new menu. It closed on July 8 for a scheduled “kitchen refurbishment;” the retheming was announced after the restaurant had closed.

Hungry Bear Restaurant was part of Critter Country at Disneyland, which will be renamed to “Bayou Country” when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on November 15. Disney Parks recently shared a first look at new Cast Member costumes for the area.

The Country Bear Jamboree opened at the Disneyland Resort on March 4, 1972. The attraction closed on September 9, 2001, and was replaced by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Though the Country Bears no longer call Disneyland home in attraction form, guests can say hi to a statue of Big Al that was installed at Disney California Adventure earlier this year.
