Visitors are thrilled as they exit the newly reopened Ocean Life Exhibit at EPCOT, greeted by a stunning wall mural of fish above the entrance.

Guests can once again enjoy all that SeaBase has to offer, as the Ocean Life exhibit has opened for the first time since early August. After a nearly two-month refurbishment, the changes were relatively small. One Cast Member told us that the closure was to update the filtration and add better lighting.

Visitors explore the reimagined Ocean Life Exhibit at EPCOT, where they wander around large cylindrical aquariums in a dimly lit room, marveling at vibrant coral and diverse marine life.

We obviously weren’t able to detect the changes to the filtration system, but changes to the lighting weren’t very noticeable either. This has always been a dark room with the tanks lit up to show off the marine life inside of them.

The Ocean Life Exhibit at EPCOT has reopened, featuring a large cylindrical aquarium filled with vibrant corals and informative panels surrounding it.

All of the displays inside the exhibit are the same as they were before the closure. Guests can once again observe tanks full of coral reefs and various aquatic lifeforms.

In this tank, we captured one seahorse swimming by himself among coral, grass, and various aquatic props.

The center tank still sits beneath a grated ceiling with orange-ish light coming out of it.

The official Walt Disney World website describes SeaBase as follows:

Spot sea turtles, reef fish, rays, sharks and more swimming through the 5.7-million-gallon habitat—one of the largest man-made ocean environments on the planet. It’s home to thousands of sea animals!

Recently, Lou the manatee was relocated and replaced by a new manatee named Inigo at The Seas with Nemo & Friends. Three dolphins are also set to be relocated from The Seas which led to animal rights activist Ric O’Barry calling for them to receive a “proper retirement.”
