PHOTO REPORT: EPCOT 10/22/2024 (Pin Tuesday, Tiny Village Drama, and More)

Happy Pin Tuesday! Today was another wonderful day in EPCOT. I found new merchandise, caught up with the tiny village drama, and found some fun finds.

Good Morning from EPCOT

A large geodesic sphere with a pattern of triangular panels at an entrance, surrounded by flags and trees under a clear blue sky.

Good morning from EPCOT! It is a beautiful Fall day in Orlando, Florida with temperatures starting in the low 70s and building to the upper 80s. I don’t know how some of you handle the snow because I’m already wearing sweaters in the morning.

Pin Tuesday

A hand holds four different collectible Disney pins, each with unique designs and themes, including Star Wars, Halloween, Mickey Mouse, and Disney characters with a boba drink.

Happy Pin Tuesday! Disney releases new pins on Tuesdays in the parks. Usually, these are Limited Edition pins, but Open Edition pins are also mixed in. My favorite from this week is the Carousel of Progress pin with Mickey Mouse and Pluto. Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below and on social media.

I found these pins in Pin Traders – Camera Center in EPCOT.

  • Millennium Falcon YT-1300 Light Freighter Pin
    • Open Edition
    • Cost: $12.99 (silver)
  • Happy Halloween 2024 Pin
    • Limited Release
    • Cost: $19.99
  • Annual Passholder Carousel of Progress Mickey Mouse and Pluto Pin
    • Limited Edition of 3000
    • Cost: $19.99
    • Annual Passholder Exclusive
  • Character Scoops The Aristocats Pin
    • Limited Edition of 4000
    • Cost: $19.99

The Little Mermaid Puzzle – $29.99

Box of a 1000-piece puzzle featuring characters from "The Little Mermaid" with Ariel and a statue underwater.

In Creations Shop, I found a new “The Little Mermaid”-inspired 1,000-piece Signature Puzzle. The artist for the puzzle’s design is Steve Thompson. I love the sketched look to it. The scene is pulled straight from Ariel’s treasure trove where she keeps the statue of Prince Eric safely hidden away. Flounder and Sebastian are featured, as well.

Pixar’s “Knick Knack” Magnet – $14.99

A person holds a magnet featuring a snowman, igloo, and satellite dish, with the text "NOME Sweet NOME, ALASKA" against a starry night background.

“Knick Knack” is one of my all-time favorite Pixar short films, so when I saw this cute little magnet in Creations Shop, I was ready to buy it until… I tried it. I don’t know what came over me to try the magnet but I am glad I did, because it doesn’t hold itself up! It has two small disc magnets and none that I tested held onto a metal surface. I was massively disappointed.

Improved Seating in CommuniCore Hall

People dining and socializing in a large, modern cafeteria with colorful banners and circular tables.

I walked over to CommuniCore Hall to assess the disappointing reality that remains inside. I’m certainly happy that Disney has opted for additional seating rather than more merchandise. However, I wonder if it’s only because they are slowly running out of stock, which is why you will find less popular items en masse and zero Muppet Brew-Wing glasses.

Baublebar Earrings

Four pairs of festive-themed earrings featuring cartoon characters, bows, and wreath designs displayed on a background.

In Port of Entry, at the beginning of World Showcase near the Canada dock, I found a new stock of Christmas Baublebar earrings. I think the Minnie Mouse wreath earrings are my favorite set. Let me know which ones caught your eye in the comments below.

  • Mickey Mouse With Lights set – $60
  • Minnie Mouse Wreath set – $50
  • Mickey Mouse Icon Santa set – $35
  • Mickey Mouse Icon Candy Cane and Mickey Mouse Icon Bow set -$60

All Hallows’ Eve Hoodie -$85

A black hoodie with a Halloween-themed crest design is displayed on a mannequin in a clothing store. Shirts hang in the background.

In The Crown & Crest in the United Kingdom pavilion, there is now an All Hallows’ Eve crested hoodie available for purchase. Eighty-five dollars may seem steep, but the hoodie seemed well-built and thick, and the crest is embroidered on the front. It’s still a bit too toasty here in Orlando for something this heavy.

Mary Poppins Ear Headband – $34.99

A hand holds a pair of themed Minnie Mouse ears with a sequined bow and printed designs.

IGNORE MY MISSING NAIL. Oh, the irony of losing a nail when documenting Mary Poppins, “practically perfect in every way.” If you can move past the missing nail, please enjoy one of the newest ear headbands featuring Mary Poppins.

There is a silhouette of Mary in light and dark blue on either ear, set against a satin white background. The center bow is covered in dark blue sequins. An enamel badge is fixed in the center with the iconic line, “Practically perfect in every way,” written across in pink. The outside of the band has “Mary Poppins” written on one side in red and “EPCOT United Kingdom” on the other in white.

The Cake Bake Shop Magic

A close-up of an open hand with a layer of fine, sparkly sand covering the palm.

I walked to The Cake Bake Shop at Disney’s BoardWalk, only to realize they had adjusted some pricing ever so slightly. I must’ve looked perplexed when I was turned away for the private preview, so I got some long story about a dragon who lights the chandeliers inside and some of the magic that the dragon uses to light the chandeliers falls and they collect it so guests can make wishes.

The Cast Member who told me the story then dumped a teaspoon amount of the pearly pink glitter in my hand and told me to make a wish on the count of three and blow the magic away. That was it. (Have you ever seen that Chrissy Teigen meme? That’s how I felt as she walked away leaving me with my hand covered in glitter. Which, even after multiple washes, is still there.)

Mitsukoshi Refurbishment

Store interior with bags and clothing on display; people walking by. Woman in a kimono stands near a section under renovation labeled "Traditional Japan.

In the Japan pavilion, there was some refurbishment going on in Mitsukoshi. Guests are still able to walk through the entire building. Everything that’s normally in the space that’s blocked off has found a new, temporary home elsewhere in the store.

Tiny Village Drama

Miniature scenes of buildings and figures, including a house with a bird's nest, a lamppost with a nest, a fairy on a roof, and two women sitting on a bench.

Things remain unchanged but otherwise calm at the tiny town in the Germany pavilion. I spotted a small lizard terrorizing someone’s home. Can you imagine an alligator on the roof? Even as a Floridian, I’d rather not. I also surprised myself when I saw a tiny Cardinal nesting in a lightpost near the train tracks.

Our tiny friend remains posted in place, with now even more railing missing. I am too afraid of heights for the life she lives. There was also a tiny girl telling a big story (with big hand gestures) to the woman sitting next to her.

Fairytale Ornaments – $26.99

Four cameo-style brooches with different colored backgrounds and ribbons, each featuring a silhouette of a woman in profile.

In The Fjording Shop in the Norway pavilion, there was a new ornament featuring Elsa and Anna cameos on the center spinner. There was also a small charm of Olaf that hangs from the bottom.

At Souvenirs de France in the France pavilion, there was another new ornament in the same style, featuring Belle and Beast. A rose charm hangs from the bottom of this ornament. I think it is funny how much space is taken up by the silhouette of Beast.

New Mexico Merchandise

Colorful Disney merchandise featuring embroidered flowers including a headband, sweatshirt with "Mexico" text, and a backpack with character graphics on display in a store.

In the Mexico pavilion, I found a new collection featuring Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck. There was even a new Loungefly mini backpack and ear headband. The new collection also includes youth and adult pieces among many other accessories. Stay tuned to our website for a full report on these new items.

Adios from EPCOT!

I hope you enjoyed our walk around EPCOT today. I always love to a stroll around this park, it was made for walking.

I’m still mad that the “Knick Knack” magnet doesn’t stick to anything well. Seems that would have been an easy fix and would have made an easy sale for me. Was there any merchandise that came out today that you liked? Let me know in the comments below and on social media.
