Guests using the single rider line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will no longer skip the pre-show scenes.

On today’s visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we discovered that changes have been made to the single rider line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. The single rider line, which started testing again on September 20, no longer bypasses the pre-show scenes. This means that single riders will get to see Rey with BB-8 and ride in the Intersystem Transport Ship (I-TS). Guests previously bypassed both and went straight to the Star Destroyer hangar.

The photo above shows part of the unthemed backstage path that single riders will now use as a queue. The line leads right through an open emergency exit door.

In a dimly lit, Star Wars-themed cave hallway adorned with green exit signs, people stand in anticipation, reminiscent of the epic waiting lines for Rise of the Resistance.

Once through the emergency exit door, we continued through the line until we finally came to the first room where single riders and riders in the regular queue joined together.

After the pre-shows, single riders and guests in groups of two or more are separated again. Single riders are told to use the left lane, while larger parties use the right side.

Though single riders will now take a different route once in line to see the pre-shows, they will still enter the queue in the same spot near the attraction’s exit.

The Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance single rider line debuted in July. The option stopped being offered on July 29. According to Cast Members, the single rider line is still only being tested, and no decision has been made on whether or not the line will become permanent.

Many single riders are likely to be pleased that they get to, at least temporarily, experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and all of its pre-show scenes as originally intended. However, some guests may be disappointed and may have preferred experiencing the attraction without the pre-show scenes. Without the pre-shows, you could enter the line and get to your jail cell in just over five minutes. That’s no longer the case.

What do you think of the changes to the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance single rider line? Do you prefer skipping the pre-shows or seeing them all? Let us know in the comments.
