A Conditional Use Permit has revealed more information about the new signage coming to Universal Orlando Resort. As previously reported, the resort’s roadside signs are going to be replaced with digital versions featuring characters and intellectual property (IP) found in the park.
The new signs are large, coming in at 30-40 feet wide, and will feature LED screens for advertising. Various uses, such as videos, animations, information, and more may be displayed.
All current signs will be replaced using the existing footers. The locations will be the same and will include the two Universal Boulevard Parking Garage signs (G101a&b), one at the corner of Vineland Road and Universal Boulevard (G102a), one at South Kirkman Road and Major Boulevard (G102b), and one at Turkey Lake Road and Hollywood Way (G102c).
The new signs still have to be approved by the city, and a hearing will be held on November 19. A timeline for replacement, assuming the project is approved, was not given.
