Walt Disney World has extended the cancellation and change fee policy for resort hotels again due to Hurricane Milton.
In accordance with their standing hurricane policy, guests with check-in dates between October 8 and October 14 can make changes to or cancel their reservations without penalty.
The policy allows for guests to make changes with no fees if a hurricane warning is in effect for the Orlando area within seven days of the reserved check-in date. A hurricane warning went into effect yesterday for Orange County, where Walt Disney World is located. It does not have an ending window at this time, and current forecasts expect Hurricane Milton to arrive in the area on Thursday, October 10.
At this time, the Walt Disney World theme parks are operating as normal. Several resort locations with more vulnerable accomodations, including Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, have closed.
The Orlando International Airport (MCO) will suspend commercial operations starting tomorrow, Wednesday, October 9.
