BREAKING: Cars E-Ticket at Magic Kingdom Will Be First-Ever Trackless, High Speed Thrill Ride

New video footage shared at D23 Brazil has confirmed the reports that the new Cars-themed E-ticket attraction coming to Magic Kingdom will be the first-ever trackless high-speed thrill ride.

A dirt path lined with hay bales, surrounded by trees, evokes the nostalgic charm of the Magic Kingdom. A vehicle resembling a Cars E-Ticket ride smoothly navigates the path under a blue sky.

The footage depicts a test experience conducted by Walt Disney Imagineering as they develop the attraction. It was shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) by LaughingPlace.com. Watch the video below.

In the video, Imagineers are riding in all-terrain-style vehicles on a dirt course that seems to have no visible track. Trackless ride vehicles are not new to Walt Disney World (and are used on attractions such as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance), but being used for an all-terrain thrill ride is a first for the resort.

The ride is one of two new attractions coming to a Cars-themed land in Magic Kingdom. Work begins on the land in early 2025. It will take over the space currently occupied by the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island as part of Frontierland.

A cartoon car with expressive eyes drives through a mountainous landscape in Frontierland, splashing through water with other animated vehicles in the background, reminiscent of a whimsical journey through the Magic Kingdom.

The experience will see guests “take on wild terrain as they race across the landscape, climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers, and splashing through mudholes.”
