The gingerbread house version of the BoardWalk Deli is back at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn for another holiday season. The display was officially unveiled on Tuesday, November 12.
Gingerbread BoardWalk Deli
The gingerbread display is in the resort’s lobby. Smaller than other Walt Disney World gingerbread displays, it’s still an impressive recreation of the BoardWalk Deli not far from the hotel. It sits on a table surrounded by plants and ropes.
On the side facing the lobby front desks is a “Happy Holidays” greeting below a Mickey-shaped wreath. The wreath features peppermints, tiny gingerbread men, candy canes, and strings of candy.
A Christmas tree outside the deli is adorned with pastries and a Santa Mickey hat. Through the display’s windows, guests can see Mickey and Minnie figures baking in a kitchen. A tiny whiteboard lists “Mickey’s Festive Treats.”
The other windows feature the silhouettes of Disney characters illuminated from behind. Pluto and Figaro are in the windows above the kitchen. The roof is lined with candy garlands and white icing.
A functional clock is at the tallest point of the gingerbread building. Daisy and Donald and silhouetted in the second-story windows above the “BoardWalk Deli” sign.
Goofy is in the window between the doorways. Striped awnings feature white icing details resembling snow and icicles. There are tiny wreaths at the corners of the windows and doorways.
The window Goofy appears in features the name of the building’s proprietor: Hue G. Krazont. An advertisement states fresh baked goods are available morning, noon, and night.
Another Christmas tree at this corner of the building features candy decorations, including a star made of candy.
The far end of the display has another Mickey-shaped wreath. This one is adorned with small Mickey ornaments and images of Mickey & Friends.
Merchandise
A kiosk next to the gingerbread display will open this afternoon, selling merchandise and sweets. The resort’s holiday pin and gingerbread pin are also available at the resort’s gift shop.
Gingerbread Pin – $22.99
The gingerbread pin features a cookie version of Donald wearing Santa-like apparel and holding a gift. Behind him is a gingerbread depiction of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. The BoardWalk logo is in a circle of candy cane. The backing card resembles a white plate on a table, so the pin looks like cookies on the plate. It has a limited edition size of 2,500.
Resort Pin – $19.99
Resort holiday pins this year all resemble wrapped gifts that slide open to reveal a character. The BoardWalk pin features a Mickey icon on the silver ribbon of the blue gift. When opened, it reveals Mickey dressed in blue and white walking the BoardWalk. A paper chain is above him and a pair of dreidels is at his feet. It’s a limited edition of 3,000.
The gingerbread house cookie jar will also be available.
The treats menu will include:
- Holiday Mickey and Minnie Sugar Cookie
- Mickey Caramel Corn Cookie
- Gingerbread Loaf
- Gingerbread Shingle
Check out the Grand Floridian gingerbread house, Beach Club “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” gingerbread carousel, and Contemporary gingerbread Dream Lights castle. Gingerbread displays will open at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and EPCOT later this month.
