FIRST LOOK: Disney Cruise Line Releases Short Tour of Haunted Mansion Parlor Bar

Disney Cruise Line has released a short video tour of the Haunted Mansion Parlor bar that will be aboard its newest ship, the Disney Treasure.

Our tour begins in the hallway outside the bar, where the sign for The Haunted Mansion Parlor is on display. The ghoulish aquatic face at the top of the frame is pulled from Imagineer Rolly Crump’s art for the “Aquarium with Ghost Fish,” an unused concept for the never-built Museum of the Weird.

Upon walking into the bar, we are met with a dark and moody atmosphere, with the Aquarium with Ghost Fish.

Over at the actual bar, a mirror along the wall is filled with waltzing ghosts straight from the Haunted Mansion ballroom.

Along the left-side wall is the parlor’s portrait gallery, which includes art of the wandering souls that have taken up residence on the Disney Treasure. These pieces mimic the art stylings utilized by Imagineers for the original Haunted Mansion in 1969, as well as use present-day technologies to transform the portraits.

Along the back wall is a variety of sitting areas and a fireplace. To the left of the fireplace is the bust of Crump, depicting the Imagineer melting like candle wax. This bust is inspired by Crump’s own Candleman character from Museum of the Weird, which was eventually added to the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom.

Above the fireplace is a mantle clock and a painting of a ship. To the right is a portrait of the “good-humored sea captain,” whose lifelong dream of serving on a luxury ocean liner was cut short.

Later in the tour is a closer look at the Aquarium with Ghost Fish. This mysterious display glows blue as bubbles float up to the water’s surface. Though, in this video, it does look empty.

Just below the shelves is the iconic “Donald Duck” chair, which gets its name because of its face design being similar to Donald’s. This chair was also designed by Crump and was intended to be a moving and talking chair.

The Disney Treasure celebrated its christening on Tuesday, November 19 during an event in New York City, which included a drone show featuring the Haunted Mansion, Moana, and more. Disney also released a short video showcasing other areas aboard the vessel.
