Grandma’s Recipes Marketplace Brings Two New Sweet Treats to the 2024 Festival of Holidays

Disney California Adventure is once again serving up Grandma’s Recipes for the 2024 Festival of Holidays. The Barbacoa Tamal de Res is back, along with a new dessert and cold brew.

At the Festival of Holidays, a family strolls over to "Grandma's Recipes," a charming food booth nestled among the vibrant marketplace. With towering trees and a clear blue sky as their backdrop, they warmly greet the smiling vendor poised to serve beloved family dishes.

Grandma’s Recipes Marketplace is on Buena Vista Street just past the Carthay Circle Restaurant.

The Barbacoa Tamal is one of our favorite items that debuted last year and we’re so glad to see it back. The meat is tender and well-seasoned, the masa is soft, and there’s plenty of tomatillo salsa.

When we first took a fork to it, the top layer of icing just fell off. It’s okay. You can tell it’s been sitting in a fridge. The predominant flavor is low-quality milk chocolate.

DLR DCA 2024 Festival of Holidays Grandmas Recipes Cafe de Olla Cold Brew

It’s really good. The spices are strong, especially the cinnamon. The pan dolce was terrible, though. It was stale and sticky. Throw it out and enjoy the coffee.
