Disney just released a new tumbler themed to the Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction snack stand at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The tumbler is $24.99 and is available at Celebrity 5 & 10 on Hollywood Blvd.
This tumbler is a teal-green color just like Gertie herself, and features artwork that matches the sign found outside the ice cream stand, with Gertie licking a popsicle. The other side of the tumbler features dinosaur footprints just like those in the concrete around Echo Lake.
Dinosaur Gertie’s Ice Cream of Extinction is situated on Echo Lake at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It was an opening day fixture at the Disney-MGM Studios on May 1, 1989.
Gertie the Dinosaur was one of the first animated film characters, created by Winsor McCay in 1914. Walt Disney respected and appreciated the work Winsor McCay did on Gertie the Dinosaur, and so Disney Imagineers decided to honor McCay with this dinosaur-shaped ice cream shop.
The holidays are one of our favorite times to visit Gertie, as she’s decked out with her Santa hat and an ornament hanging from her mouth.
