“Raindrops on roses, and whiskers on kittens…” C’mon, sing it with me — you know you want to! “These are a few of my Favorite Things!”
Here at the 2024 Disney California Adventure Festival of Holidays, though, Favorite Things isn’t actually referring to bright copper kettles, warm woolen mittens, or brown paper packages. It’s the name of one of Festive Foods Marketplaces (also known as Booths) at this year’s Festival of Holidays. And we’re visiting ALL of the Booths to bring you our full reviews of each one, so join us as we find out which Favorite Things have come to the Festival of Holidays!
Menu
First on the list of those Favorite Things is a returning Festival dish: the Braised Pork Belly Adobo. It’s joined by the new Sticky Toffee Pudding Macaron.
The new Spiced Coconut Cocktail is the drink offering here.
Ready? Here we go!
Eats
Let’s start with the Braised Pork Belly Adobo, served with garlic rice. This returning dish is $9.50. This is so tasty and the pork belly is nice and tender with a great flavor. We also loved the crunch on top that’s almost like a pork rind. The chicharron is also on top, plus you have that nice, garlicky rice — both make for a nice mix.
The Sticky Toffee Pudding Macaron is new this year for $8. While Mickey-shaped macarons aren’t necessarily a new addition to Disney California Adventure Festivals, this version is filled with vanilla buttercream, date cake, and salted toffee sauce. This is probably one of the best holiday macarons Disney has created.
It’s not too sweet and has that nice salted toffee flavor, along with the chocolate and vanilla buttercream — all the flavors work so well. Also, JUST LOOK AT IT. It’s adorable.
Drinks
Now, I don’t know about you, but some of the ingredients making up the new Spiced Coconut Cocktail for $17.50 are definitely a few of our favorite things: dark rum, spice tea, coconut purée, and evaporated and condensed milks are garnished with nutmeg and a wafer stick.
This cocktail tastes like Christmas, especially with the spices. The coconut flavor is the most predominant here, followed by the rum. The nutmeg just adds a hint of that holiday spiciness.
OVERALL
We found some of our Favorite Things at this booth, including snacks and a drink we’d order again. The macaron is a must, if only for the photos, but it’s quite tasty, too. This is one food booth you’ll want to put on your “must-visit” list when you visit the festival.
That’s it from Favorite Things, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
