REVIEW: New Flatbread, Cheese Roll, Cocktails, and Mocktail From Oga’s Cantina at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is finally serving real food, as well as new cocktails and a mocktail. After Disney announced the new menu items, we visited Oga’s to try everything.

Oga’s Cantina Food Reviews

Thruster Roasted Bantha Flatbread – $17

Naan flatbread topped with spiced chorizo beef and a four-cheese blend

An oval-shaped flatbread topped with minced meat, red sauce, and small herbs, served on a sleek black rectangular plate. Perfect for your next review at Oga's Cantina!

Banthas are the huge fuzzy animals with spiral horns often used as mounts or pack animals. Bantha meat is a common staple (and the real-world equivalent is beef). They are native to many planets in the Star Wars galaxy, most notably Tatooine. The first canon appearance of a Bantha was in “A New Hope.”

In the fictional story of Black Spire Outpost, it seems to be implied that this Bantha meat was prepared for Oga’s Cantina at Ronto Roasters, which uses an old podracer thruster to cook its dishes.

The flatbread was quite tasty. It wasn’t spicy like we expected from chorizo. It had a bit of an Indian spice flavor to it. The four-cheese blend seemed to be missing as we didn’t see or taste any cheese. It’s a rather small portion but still good for sharing. The meat was plentiful and the overall quality of this dish was high.

Umbaran Cheese Roll – $12

Spice-dusted pretzel bun stuffed with herbed cheese and a dipping sauce

This dish is named after, and presumably inspired by, the planet Umbara, which first appeared in the animated series “The Clone Wars.” Umbara is also known as “Shadow World” as no sunlight reaches the surface of the planet.

This was essentially a pretzel bun you might eat with a hamburger, cut into four pieces. A melted cheese topping was put between the quarters. The cheese had a bit of a spice to it and there was a bit of spice on the pretzel bun, but we wouldn’t say this was spicy. The cheese was probably something like a pimento spread melted in the oven for a few seconds. The dipping sauce on the side is a honey-mustard sauce, which goes well with the pretzel. Overall, this was quite tasty and easily shared by four people, although it seems a bit pricey.

Oga’s Cantina Drinks Reviews

Nysillin and Bubbles with Brub Berry Essence – $18

Empress 1908 Gin, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and blueberry-lime juice topped with tonic water and garnished with an edible hibiscus flower

A glass of pink drink, reminiscent of Oga's Cantina, garnished with a hibiscus flower on a marble countertop.

In the Star Wars universe, nysillin is a common but valuable herb used for healing. It first appeared in “The Clone Wars.” Notably, Batuu local Hondo Ohnaka tried to bully farmers on Felucia into giving his crew a large harvest of nysillin.

Brub berries find their origin in the short story “The Kroolok” from “The Life Day Treasury.” The story follows a group of Ewoks on the Forest Moon of Endor, where the berry grows in the wild.

Our reporter is not a huge fan of gin but found this to be very good and their favorite out of the four new alcoholic offerings. The blueberry lime juice base gave it a nice fruity feel. The gin was not overpowering. We tried to eat the hibiscus blossom but didn’t find it very edible. If you’re looking for a light refreshing flowery drink, this is for you.

The Sylop – $18

Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave, and jalapeño with a chili-lime-seasoned rim

A cocktail with a salted rim in a glass, sitting invitingly on a coaster atop the countertop at Oga's Cantina.

Sylop is a reference to the in-universe and real-world game of Sabacc. It’s a face card found in Sabacc decks used for Corellian Spike and Kessel versions of the game. Corellian Spike is the version that Han Solo and Lando Carlissian played with the Millennium Falcon in the stakes. The deck sold at Galaxy’s Edge can be used to play Corellian Spike and includes two sylop cards.

This is a take on a margarita with grapefruit, lime juices, and Mezcal. It’s a quality drink. We particularly like the grapefruit and lime juices. This would be a refreshing option for guests who like Mezcal. A bit of spice from the chili lime rim gives it a bit of a kick.

Bloody Rancor with Candied Meat – $22.50

Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, and house-made bloody mary mix garnished with a spicy candied rancor bacon

A cocktail in a tall glass with a strip of bacon garnishing the drink, set on a marble counter at Oga's Cantina.

There have been other versions of Bloody Rancor at Oga’s Cantina, which are named after the large reptilian creatures found on many planets across the galaxy. Notably, Jabba the Hutt kept a rancor under his throne room in “Return of the Jedi” and the Hutt twins gifted a young rancor to Boba Fett in “The Book of Boba Fett.”

This is essentially a Bloody Mary with a piece of candied bacon. The Bloody Mary mix is advertised as house-made, which we believe. It tasted fresh and high-quality — not like it was out of a can. The candied bacon was tasty and the highlight of the drink. If you like Bloody Marys, you’ll probably like this.

Corellian Spike Cold Brew – $18

Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, vanilla, brown sugar syrup, and orange bitters topped with purple vanilla-ube foam

Corellian Spike is another drink named after Sabacc.

From the top, you can tell this is a quality beverage as it uses Joffrey’s cold brew. It’s bourbon-forward and not sweet at all. We felt it was lacking sugar but if you like bourbon, cold brew, and no sugar, this drink is for you.

Akivan Tea – $7.75 (non-alcoholic)

Lavender, Lemon Juice, Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea garnished with a Lavender Sprig

On the bar counter at Oga's Cantina, a cocktail glass holds a light brown drink, elegantly garnished with a lavender sprig.

Akivan Liqueur is a rare alcoholic beverage in the Star Wars universe, but Strono Tuggs developed a non-alcoholic substitute that he included in “The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook.” The recipe is semi-similar to this drink, mostly due to the signature lavender flavor inspired by the liqueur. The alcoholic version first appeared in “Aftermath” by Chuck Wendig. Canonically, it comes from the planet Akiva in the Outer Rim, which was also introduced in the same novel.

This new non-alcoholic drink was not included in Disney’s initial announcement. It’s basically a lavender Arnold Palmer. We found it super refreshing and a great non-alcoholic option. If you like lavender, you’ll love this. You can taste the quality of the homemade lemon juice.
