See Inside Plaza de Coco — The Disney Cruise Line’s NEW Dinner Show on the Treasure

On the new Disney Treasure cruise ship, a dinner show will be held at Plaza de Coco. Seven night sailings will get to experience two different shows with different themes.

Familia Night sets a scene like you’re in the market where the Rivera family sells their shoes. Show Night is a celebration of Día de Los Muertos with authentic cuisine and entertainment.

We got to go aboard the Treasure ahead of her maiden voyage next month and got a tour of the venue, a look at some of the offerings, and more.

Entrance

Guests enter the restaurant through the town of Santa Cecilia through a brick archway. Inside they’ll find the Rivera’s shop.

Ofrenda

The Rivera family’s sprawling ofrenda is out, with photos of the deceased family members interspersed with traditional decorations such as bread, skulls, and candles.

Dining Area

The dining area is set up around the stage and designed to look like the market at the Santa Cecilia plaza. The tables are rectangular in neat lines with a mix of plain brown chairs and green chairs with floral decorations.

String lights hang from the ceiling and more lights line the windows. To drive home the idea of being outdoors, large tree trunks intersperse the areas with branches overhead. Lanterns hang from the branches.

Entertainment

The show features authentic Mexican music and music from the film performed by a live mariachi band. Upon entry, there’s a small ofrenda for Héctor in the center, complete with his iconic guitar.

Drink Menu

Menu Items

A sampling of some of the menu items was on display. Disney has not yet released the full menus for any of the ship’s dining venues. But we got to try two items.

Souvenir Sipper

Guacamole

Other menu items will include the following:

  • Abuelita Elena Shrimp Diabla with chili-chipotle sauce, cilantro, pickled red onion, and toasted birotes
  • Blistered Poblano Pepper stuffed with Oaxaca cheese and green rice
  • Red Capsicum and Green Parsley Grilled Snapper with fried yucca, refried beans, baby spinach, and pico de gallo
  • Pan-Seared Adobo Spiced Sea Bass with seared scallops, rainbow carrots, spinach, Romanesco, peas, and chimichurri sauce
  • Luisa’s Pollo Asado with Michoacán citrus chicken, cilantro rice, and serrano-tomatillo salsa
  • Enrique’s Port Wine Braised Center Cut Beef Short Rib with cheddar cheese and green onion red mash and long green beans with crisp shallots
  • Mexican Chocolate Tart with spiced chocolate crème, caramel pecan nuts, and chocolate glaze
  • Warm Coconut Tres Leches with milk-soaked coconut cake, caramel sauce, and dulce de leche ice cream
  • Margarita Lime Cheesecake with a sea salt shortbread and raspberry-agave margarita coulis
