The Shades of Green sign at Walt Disney World Resort has been demolished. The sign was located on the corner of Floridian Way and W Magnolia Palm Drive, where there has been ongoing construction for several years as part of road expansions.
Shades of Green Sign Demolished
Shades of Green is located across Floridian Way from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center. The walkway from Shades of Green to the Polynesian closed due to the construction. The Shades of Green sign was located on the north corner of W Magnolia Palm Dr but is now gone.
There is mulch behind a short rock wall — the only signs that the sign was once there. The sign was previously removed, although its fake rock base remained, in December 2023. The sign was back by May 2024. Below is what the structure looked like.
In addition to Shades of Green, it included signage for the Palm, Magnolia, and Oak Trail golf courses. The golf courses and Shades of Green remain open, guests will just need to rely on other signage and their GPS to find the turn.
Shades of Green roofs are also currently being replaced, a project that started in October 2023 and is expected to be completed by October 2025.
The Shades of Green resort is an Armed Forces Recreation Center resort reserved for U.S. military members, veterans, and their families.
