The interior steel frames for the walls of the new Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge have been installed at Magic Kingdom.
Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge Construction
The tavern takes over the former Pirates League space. The Pirates League closed permanently in 2020, although the sign remains up outside Pirates of the Caribbean. Construction walls are inside and outside Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop.
Over the walls, we can see the steel frames for the new walls of the lounge, although little else. Disney announced the lounge last year, stating it will feature the return of Peg-Leg Pete, a.k.a. the Barker Bird. The lounge is meant to expand the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.
The most recent concept art shows tables and chairs in a ship-inspired space decorated with paintings and ships in bottles. Disney Parks Blog described the new lounge as a place where “…bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas are welcome to join together and raise a toast to the pirate life!”
An opening date for the lounge hasn’t been announced.
