Tokyo Disney Resort Announces 2025 New Year’s Greetings, Merchandise, & Food Items

Tokyo Disney Resort announced details of their New Year’s offerings, which will be at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea from January 1 through 13, 2025.

Tokyo Disney Resort New Year’s

Both parks will have a special New Year’s Greeting featuring Mickey Mouse and friends in traditional Japanese attire, kadomatsu decorations at the entrances, special merchandise, and themed menu items. Disney hotels will also have New Year’s menu items and the Disney Resort Line will offer New Year’s-themed day passes.

New Year’s Greetings

At Tokyo Disneyland, the New Year’s Greeting will be performed on the parade route once daily. Mickey, Minnie, and other Disney characters dressed in traditional Japanese outfits will appear on decorated floats. The cavalcade will be about 25 minutes and feature 20 performers.

At Tokyo DisneySea, the greeting will be on a boat in the Mediterranean Harbor. It will be performed twice daily for about 10 minutes. It will feature seven performers, including Mickey and Minnie in special New Year’s outfits.

Special Cards

From December 26 through January 13, Cast Members will hand out cards featuring character-inspired daruma dolls. Guests can write their wishes for the new year on the cards.

Decorations

From December 28, World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland will be adorned with New Year’s kadomatsu decorations featuring Mickey. Kadomatsu decorations featuring Mickey and Minnie will be at the entrance to Passaggio MiraCosta in Tokyo DisneySea.

Special Merchandise

New Year’s merchandise will be available at both parks starting December 2. Plush badges of Mickey and Minnie in traditional Japanese attire are ¥2,500. The merchandise also includes a button (¥500), pin (¥1,200), and drawstring pouch (¥900), all featuring Mickey and Minnie in their special outfits.

The Tokyo Disney Resort Frozen Selection “Daruma Sweets” feature Mickey and Minnie-inspired daruma designs. These will be available for ¥1,500 and can be purchased via the Tokyo Disney Resort app by guests with a valid park ticket for the same day at Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea.

Special Menus

From December 26, Sweetheart Cafe in Tokyo Disneyland and Zambini Brothers’ Ristorante in Tokyo DisneySea will serve Kinako Mousse & Milk Jelly (¥550) topped with sweet-soy sugar and mochi-rice dumpling filling. The dessert can be purchased with a souvenir cup featuring Mickey and Minnie in their new year’s outfits for ¥650.

Mochi in broth, a traditional Japanese new year’s soup, will be available from January 1 through 5. Restaurant Hokusai in Tokyo Disneyland will offer yuzu-scented mochi and chicken in broth instead of the miso soup side for an additional ¥400.

Restaurant Sakura in Tokyo DisneySea will offer mochi and minced duck meat in broth instead of miso soup for an additional ¥700. Fu (wheat gluten cake) resembling cherry blossoms and grilled mochi will be served separately with the dish.

From December 26 through January 13, restaurants and lounges at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, and Disney Ambassador Hotel will have their own new year menus.

A variety of gourmet dishes are elegantly arranged, including appetizers, main courses, and a dessert, on colorful plates and in rectangular boxes set on a light green surface.

The “Year End & New Year Stylish Canna” (¥16,500) dinner will be available at Canna in Tokyo Disneyland Hotel. This meal includes osechi (traditional Japanese New Year cuisine)-inspired appetizers, such as black soybeans and herring roe.

Empire Grill at the Disney Ambassador Hotel will serve the “Year End & New Year Empire Grill Dinner” (¥13,300).

Also from Empire Grill, guests can enjoy a meal in the comfort of their rooms with the takeout “Year End & New Year Dinner Set” (¥18,000 for two people). This meal will be unavailable on December 31.

Disney Resort Line

Two limited new year’s-themed day passes will be available from Disney Resort Line ticket machines. One features Mickey and Minnie in their new year’s outfits. The other features a Mickey-inspired daruma doll.
