VIDEO: Spider-Man Stuntronic Show at Disney California Adventure Now Performs Without Human Union Acrobats

As we previously reported, the stunt performers have been removed from The Amazing Spider-Man! at Disney California Adventure.

A person in a Spider-Man costume stands on a rooftop, leaning against a railing, with the clear blue sky beyond—a scene reminiscent of Disney California Adventure's thrilling Spider-Man Stuntronic.

A Spider-Man actor still banters on the WEB rooftop before the Stuntronic but he performs no stunts. The portion of the show where Spider-Man previously did a series of acrobatics has been cut and he now exits at ground level rather than swinging down the wall.

Disney has boasted adding more performances of the show and therefore more opportunities to meet Spider-Man after.

The stunt performers previously involved in the show were part of the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) union. They were notified in October that they would be let go from the role in November. The actors now performing as Spider-Man are likely part of Actors’ Equity.

These cuts, as well as the cancellation of “Dr. Strange: Mysteries of the Mystic Arts” and reduction of performances for “Warriors of Wakanda: The Disciplines of the Dora Milaje” are reportedly to accomodate increased spending for DisneylandForward.
