Since our first look at Disney Cruise Line’s newly-christened ship, the Disney Treasure, we have reported a lot of news from inside! Here is a list of the top three things to look forward to aboard the Disney Treasure.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor
Every Disney Cruise Line ship has a variety of adult-focused experiences, especially highly-themed bars. The Disney Treasure is special, however, as it is the first ship to feature a bar inspired by The Haunted Mansion!
The immaculate setting draws visual inspiration from the bicoastal attraction itself, as well as scrapped concepts and easter eggs. Best of all, the space is as immersive as the ride, with illusions and effects sure to make any haunt a happy one. The bar offers themed drinks and collectible mugs that can be enjoyed in the luxuriously macabre setting.
Two other incredibly themed bars are on the ship, themed to “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and The Jungle Cruise.
Jumbeaux’s Sweets Shop
If you are a fan of “Zootopia” and want to try out some of the delicious treats seen in the film without flying to Shanghai Disneyland, the Disney Treasure has a dessert shop just for you!
Jumbeaux’s Sweets Shop on deck 11 is inspired by Jumbeaux Café, run by elephants for fellow large animals (and sometimes smaller ones), from the Disney animated film. The shop is beautifully themed with vibrant, jaunty colors and imagery from the world of “Zootopia.”
Most importantly, the shop serves up tons of delicious snacks to indulge in, such as ice cream, gelato, and “Zootopia”-themed candy such as the Sahara Squares.
Plaza de Coco
As with all Disney Cruise Line ships, the Disney Treasure has rotational dining that takes guests to three different dining locations for dinner (in addition to two premium dining locations). One of these locations is Plaza de Coco, a space inspired by Pixar’s “Coco,” serving unique Mexican cuisine alongside live entertainment and musical performances. There are two different shows to see, guests sailing on seven-night cruises will experience both.
The space is intricately decorated with authentic Mexican architecture and artwork from the Pixar film. One of the highlights is the Rivera family ofrenda. The dining area resembles the Santa Cecilia plaza from the film, creating the atmosphere of dining outside at night, illuminated by orange lanterns and string lights. Tree branches and leaves cover the ceiling.
As a live mariachi band plays, guests can drink authentic Mexican cocktails, eat guacamole, and enjoy a full menu of Mexican cuisine.
The other dining locations are the Worlds of Marvel restaurant and 1923. Both are carried over from the Disney Wish but have unique aspects that set them apart.
These are just a few of the countless exciting things we know to expect aboard the Disney Treasure, but there is so much more to anticipate once sailings begin on December 21.
