Something BIG…no, something EPIC…is happening at Universal Orlando. Epic Universe is opening TOMORROW, May 22nd, and ahead of that opening, the park is having a HUGE opening ceremony.

Now, we’ve already spent some time visiting Epic Universe and checking out all five lands, but we’re at the opening ceremony today where Universal is going ALL out to introduce its brand new theme park to the world. However, we didn’t expect to see what we saw at the ceremony because Universal brought in some surprise celebrities to welcome Epic Universe to the world! And, y’all — WE WERE THERE.

So at the opening ceremony, Universal brought in some celebrities through some of the portals that lead to those lands. So, of COURSE, we saw some Victoria Frankenstein and her monsters come through the Dark Universe portal…

…while Princess Peach, Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong popped out of the Super Nintendo World portal. Okay, so THAT was expected.

HOWEVER, when the big intro for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic portal happened, three ACTUAL celebrities came out to greet the crowd. Yep, that’s James and Oliver Phelps (aka the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter movies) and Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick in the Harry Potter movies, although you probably also know him from Willow and Star Wars and a million other things).

Yep, they were right there IN THE FLESH to celebrate the opening of Epic Universe with us. SO…well…again…EPIC, right?

Now, we’ll be at the official opening tomorrow, reporting in on the crowds, wait times, and everything else. You’ll want to make sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!

Will you be visiting Epic Universe this summer? Let us know in the comments!
