Nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dollywood is Dolly Parton’s beloved theme park offering rides, shows, crafts, and seasonal festivals. This theme park was just announced as the most highly rated in the US, according to TripAdvisor. But there is one thing that makes this theme park a little different than others, and guests can only participate in it on Sundays.
Did you know that if you visit Dollywood on a Sunday, you can attend a 30-minute, non-denominational worship service right in the park? Services are held at 11:30 a.m. during the regular season, in the cozy one-room country church surrounded by Craftsman’s Valley. It’s a meaningful space with wooden pews, historic doors, antique stained-glass windows, and even a bell from a one-room school, all of which predate the park itself.

Visiting Dollywood during the Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration? You’re in for a treat with the service schedule shifts for the holidays, with worship moving to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. It’s a serene, festive experience, blending quiet reflection with the glow of holiday lights and seasonal decorations.

Having a chapel inside a theme park might seem odd, but at Dollywood, it fits perfectly. It serves guests who might want to attend worship without disrupting their family’s park day, offering a moment of peace amid the thrills. The chapel has anchored the park since its earliest days and has offered Sunday services so guests don’t miss their spiritual traditions while enjoying Dollywood.
