Disney World Lowers Flags to Half-Staff to Honor Charlie Kirk

Kirk was a conservative political personality who was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. In the wake of his death, President Trump ordered American flags on all public buildings and grounds be flown at half-staff until at least sunset on Sunday, September 14.

We first noticed Disney flags at half-staff on September 11, when they are traditionally flown at half-staff to honor the 9/11 terrorist attacks. We then saw the flags were still at half-staff on September 12. Though Disney is private property, they usually do follow federal flag proclamations.
