Hey everybody! It seems like we’ve blinked and the holidays are already approaching in Central Florida. Prepping for the festive season can be overwhelming, but did you know that there’s a unique keepsake you can get customized while visiting Walt Disney World — and potentially take it home the same day?
Where Can You Get Custom Embroidery at Disney?
Walt Disney World is home to two locations where you can get custom embroidery on a variety of items, including Spirit Jerseys, bags, ear hats, and more. Among those are Christmas Disney stockings! We decided to get Disney stockings embroidered to see what the experience is like, how much it costs, and find out if it’s worth it.
You can get custom embroidery done at two locations on Walt Disney World property: Curtain Call Collectibles in Magic Kingdom, which is connected to Town Square Theater on Main Street, U.S.A.; or Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories in Disney Springs.
We opted to visit Curtain Call Collectibles in Magic Kingdom this trip, and picked out two Santa Mickey Disney stockings to have embroidered with Jackson and Oliver’s names.
How Much Does It Cost?
In Magic Kingdom, pricing for embroidery is broken down into three different options:
- Basic Embroidery – $4.99
- One line of text, and a maximum of 16 characters
- Premium Embroidery – $7.99
- Cost is per line of text with a maximum of 2 lines, and a maximum of 16 characters per line
- Deluxe Embroidery – $9.99
- Cost is per line of text with a maximum of 2 lines, and a maximum of 16 characters per line (available on select items only)
How Does It Work?
To get your Disney stocking or other item embroidered, all you have to do is choose your item (or bring it in with a receipt if you bought it elsewhere on property), choose your embroidery style, and then pay at the register. The embroidery area in Magic Kingdom is open-air, so you can watch the Cast Members while they work on your order!
There are several fonts and colors to choose from for embroidery, and you can mix and match if you’re getting more than one stocking like we did. We had 13 fonts to choose from in total for our Disney stockings.
Once you have decided on your design, a Cast Member will take down your name and phone number so they can send you a confirmation text and then a notification once your order is complete and ready for pickup. In our experience, the process was super simple.
We opted for two of the same green Santa Mickey stockings, with the Casual font in red embroidery thread.
How Do You Pick It Up?
You can pick up your Disney stockings from Curtain Call Collectibles once you receive your pickup text, likely a few hours after dropping off your order. For Disney’s Wonderful World of Memories in Disney Springs, we’d recommend checking with a Cast Member about their drop-off and pick-up process.
If you don’t want to or don’t have time to pick your order up right away, that’s okay! The Cast Members at Curtain Call Collectibles will hold on to your order all night if needed.
How Did They Turn Out?
We love how Jackson and Oliver’s Disney stockings turned out, and can’t wait to use them come holiday time! This is a great souvenir option if you’re visiting Walt Disney World, and could also make for a perfect gift for someone on your list.
