Each year, Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Florida transforms into a Christmas wonderland, and this year’s ICE! event might be one of the coolest (literally!) themes yet. If you’re looking for a way to jump right into the holiday spirit here in Orlando, this is the place to do it.
For 2025, ICE! is themed to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The classic story comes to life in more than 2 million pounds of hand-carved ice. The moment you step inside, you’re hit with a 9°F winter chill, and suddenly Florida feels very, very far away.
What You’ll See Inside
The event features beautifully-carved scenes from the Rudolph story. Everyone, from Rudolph and Clarice to Hermey and Bumble, is sculpted entirely from ice by a team of expert artisans who spend weeks creating every detail. It’s honestly incredible to see up close.
One of our favorite parts of the event each year are the giant ice slides! Some of them are two stories tall! Kids love it. Adults love it. Everyone ends up smiling after going down them.
Tracker Tip: The ice slides can get a little slick! Make sure to wear winter clothing under your provided parka so you are protected properly.
How Cold Is It, Really?
If you miss the feeling of a traditional winter, you will LOVE the temperature inside of ICE!. The temperature inside stays at 9°F, so Gaylord gives everyone big blue parkas to wear. They’re warm, cozy, and they make for adorable family photos. But even with the parka, you’re still going to feel the cold.
Tracker Tip: Bring gloves! Your hands will thank you. Layers, hats, and thicker socks are also a win, especially for little ones.
Most guests spend 15–20 minutes walking through the exhibit, depending on photos, crowds, and how long you want to hang out with the Bumble ice slides.
When & Where Is It Happening?
ICE! runs from November 14, 2025 through January 7, 2026 at Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, just minutes from Walt Disney World. The whole resort is decked out for Christmas, so even beyond ICE!, you’ll find lights, entertainment like the new Pomp, Snow and CIRQUEumstance show, meet and greets with Mrs. Clause and Nutmeg the Gingerbread man, gingerbread house decorating, ice tubing, and more!
Tracker Tip: If you’re visiting close to Christmas or on a weekend, grab your tickets as early as possible. This event sells out fast, especially evening time slots.
Tickets & Packages
Gaylord Palms has lots of options to choose from to build the best day for you and your family! You can buy standalone ICE! tickets or book a full room and an ICE! package, which usually offers more of a relaxed experience. Sometimes the packages include perks like extra activities in the Snow Factory and reserved ICE! times. We highly recommend checking their official website to see which option works best for you.
Tracker Tip: Marriott Bonvoy members, AAA, and Florida residents often get discounted packages, so check those before booking as well!
Is ICE! Worth It?
Absolutely. ICE! is one of the most unique holiday traditions in Orlando, and the Rudolph theme makes it extra charming this year. Between the sculptures, slides, and all the festive extras around the resort, it’s a perfect way to jump into the holiday season.
It’s fun for couples as a date night venue, great for families looking for holiday fun, and honestly, just a refreshing way to experience “winter” in Florida.
We always walk out of ICE! with cold noses, warm hearts, and a camera roll full of photos. If you’re planning holiday fun in Orlando this season, Gaylord Palms should definitely be on your list.
A big thank you to Gaylord Palms for having us out to enjoy ICE!
