A social media video shows a guest engaging in some DIY catch-and-release fishing at EPCOT in Walt Disney World.

Guest Goes Fishing at EPCOT

The video, shared on X by user @NickChaps96 but originating from a TikTok account called justfoolsfishin23, shows a man leaning over a bridge crossing the World Showcase Lagoon in EPCOT. He’s stealthily using a handheld reel to retrieve a fish from the water.

After reeling in the fish, he quickly removes the hook and drops the fish back into the water.

While this guest may be channeling Living with the Land, the way he’s going about fishing in EPCOT is definitely not allowed. There are ways to fish on property, though, including in the parks.

Fishing at Walt Disney World

Yes, you actually can go fishing at Walt Disney World. Largemouth bass fishing excursions are available at several resorts. You can even go fishing in the lakes in both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios before park opening times. At Fort Wilderness and Port Orleans Riverside, you can also rent equipment for a relaxing day of dockside fishing.
