*NEW* Chicarrón Nachos – $9
Chicharrón, chorizo, cheese sauce, tomatoes, and salsa verde

This was an interesting item that pleasantly surprised me. The ingredients, including the cheese sauce, were fresh and pretty high quality, rather than looking like something from a concession stand. Although the chicharróns did become soggy after sitting in the toppings for about 15 minutes, so if you do get this, eat it quickly. This item is spicy, so if you are sensitive to that, maybe steer clear. I would put this at the higher end of medium, especially for theme park food. That being said, if you enjoy these flavors and spice levels, this will probably be a hit for you. The method of delivery is fun and unique, though I don’t know if it served the item or was the most practical. Overall quite tasty, though not a festival favorite.

*NEW* Tiki Spritz – $18
Dark rum, Italian aperitif, pineapple juice, guava nectar, guava syrup, and sweet and sour, topped with Sprite and garnished with a pineapple wedge

The drink is notably not very sweet, which the reviewer found surprising for a tiki-style drink, but consistent with recent festival offerings at Disney California Adventure. The dominant flavors are the Italian aperitif and the dark rum, making it a spirit-forward cocktail. The fruit flavors from the pineapple and guava are present but subtle, and the Sprite contributes only a slight fizz to the drink. Refreshing and well-balanced. a solid, above-average drink, but not necessarily a standout item to go out of your way for, unless you particularly enjoy this specific flavor combination.

LA Style

Food:
*NEW* Carbonara Pizzetta: White sauce, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and black pepper drizzle – $8
Junior LA Street Dog with jalapeño mayo, pepper and onion relish, and Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon – $8.50
Beverages:
*NEW* Cherry Cola Cold Brew: Joffrey’s Coffee 70th Anniversary Blend, oat milk, and vanilla crème and cherry syrups topped with a cherry cola cold foam and a maraschino cherry (Non-alcoholic) – $7.75
- *NEW* Seaborn Strawberry Lemonade Margarita – $18.25
*NEW* Carbonara Pizzetta – $8
White sauce, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Bacon, and black pepper drizzle

The bacon provides a very intense, smoky flavor that serves as the most prominent note, which you notice right away on the first bite. The dish has a complex, robust flavor profile that, due to the high amount of black pepper, is reminiscent of cacio e pepe. While the portion is hearty, the size is relatively small for the price. Although the dish successfully captures the essence of spaghetti carbonara, the intense smoke and black pepper flavors were not to my favorite. I would not choose to finish this or purchase it again, specifically for the price-to-value ratio and the intensity of the flavor profile. If you enjoy carbonara and cacio e pepe, you will most likely enjoy this; just be prepared for the strong black pepper and smoky flavors.

*NEW* Cherry Cola Cold Brew – $7.75
Joffrey’s Coffee 70th Anniversary Blend, oat milk, vanilla crème and cherry syrups topped with a cherry cola cold foam and a maraschino cherry (Non-alcoholic)

Quality medium-roast cold brew that avoids being overly bitter, while the drink is sweeter than a typical cold brew, it is not super sweet or cloying. The cola flavor is very subtle and is most noticeable at the end of a sip. The cherry flavoring is more luxurious and rich, rather than having a medicinal cold medicine flavor. Very enjoyable, a more unique take on a solid cold brew. Nostalgic in the best way. If you like a creamier, sweeter cold brew and cherry, you are in the right place.

- Cantarito-Style Paloma – $18.25
- Paloma Flight: Cantarito-Style Paloma, Black Cherry Paloma, and Blood Orange Paloma – $19.75
*NEW* Torta Ahogada – $9.25
Braised pork carnitas, frijoles charros, pickled onion, and salsa

This is my most perplexing item of the festival. The meat is moist and well-cooked, and we get a lot of it. Carnitas usually aren’t my favorite, but I was pleasantly surprised by this version and am a pretty big fan. The salsa is fresh, flavorful, and very tomato-heavy, with a good spice level, so again, a warning to those spice sensitive. The carnitas, the veggies, and the salsa were super fresh. Unfortunately, this dish was very hard to eat, mostly due to the fact that the bread was pretty soggy because it was sitting in a bowl of salsa. The dish would be much more enjoyable if served on a plate with the salsa in a ramekin, so you could drizzle or dip the sandwich to maintain the integrity of the bread. Because I ended up having to eat this with a fork, and that’s not ideal. This item could have been great because taste-wise, I was impressed. However, the delivery method fell short, making it lose out on a high score.

Peppers Cali-Ente

Food:
*NEW* Tajín Habanero Seasoned Wings with Tajín chile-lime sauce – $9.50
*NEW* Ramen Mac & Cheese: Furikake crumble, fish cakes, green onions, and chile crunch – $9.25
Beverages:
*NEW* Strawberry Guava Lemonade: Simply Lemonade, strawberry purée, and guava syrup topped with vanilla cream and freeze-dried strawberries (Non-alcoholic) – $8.50
- Pickle Whiskey Sour: Bourbon, pickle and lime juices, and asweet and sour rimmed with Tajín Clásico and Tajín Chile-Lime Sauce, and garnished with a pickle spear – $19.25
- *NEW* Seaborn Strawberry Lemonade Margarita – $18.25
*NEW* Tajín Habanero Seasoned Wings – $9.50
with Tajín chile-lime sauce

Tasty, especially if you like dry rub. Well-cooked, on the verge of dry but on the good side of that line. Most of the Tajin flavor is in the sauce drizzled on top, and they gave us the correct amount of it, not too much, because it is strong. This loses points for the cost-to-value ratio as it’s a bit pricey for only three wings, though they are a good size. Overall, one of the better quality wings I’ve had at a Disney festival, and I think it would make most people happy if they were craving a unique wing.
Rating out of 7: 5
*NEW* Ramen Mac & Cheese – $9.25
Furikake crumble, fish cakes, green onions, and chile crunch

Lots of complex flavors, yet well-balanced. Onion and Miso flavors are present in the mac and cheese; they somehow infuse the broth flavor into the base. The crumble was a mix of chili oil and garlic, which adds some spice but by no means makes it spicy, and it has a nice texture. Points for uniqueness and execution of their idea because they did, in fact, make mac and cheese taste like ramen, and they did it pretty well. Not my personal favorite flavor profile and probably not a universal go-to for people, BUT if ramen is your jam, I think you will be quite happy.
Rating out of 7: 5
*NEW* Strawberry Guava Lemonade – $8.50
Simply Lemonade, strawberry purée, and guava syrup topped with vanilla cream and freeze-dried strawberries (Non-alcoholic)

Very Yummy. Perfectly balanced, though the guava flavor is the strongest. No unpleasant texture. Not as tart as typical Simply lemonade. Wish there were less ice because I finished this quickly. Thick cream on top. Freeze-dried strawberries are a nice touch for a burst of flavor and texture difference. Not too sweet, very natural and fresh tasting. It loses a point for not being very unique or special. Crowd pleasers for sure!

- *NEW* White Wine Flight: Kendall Jackson Chenin Blanc, La Crema Chardonnay, and Tablas Creek Vineyard Patelin De Tablas Blanc – $23
*NEW* Mimosa Flight – $22.50

All of these were light on the fruit and stronger on the wine flavor. Well balanced, though a more direct mimosa than others I have had at a festival. None were overly sweet or artificial. I suspect that a different sparkling wine was used in all three.
Mango Melon: Very enjoyable right off the bat. Melon is more present than mango. Wine was crisp, light, and refreshing. 7/7
Strawberry Punch: A bit puckery. Kind of a bitter, unripe strawberry flavor, the fruit punch is almost non-existent. The wine is by far the strongest flavor, and it’s not a great one. 3/7
Blue Raspberry Pineapple: Smells more blue raspberry than it tastes. Very little pineapple. Wine is less acidic in flavor than the Strawberry but still not my favorite. 4/7

*NEW* Banana Caramel Bread Pudding – $8.49
Banana pudding with caramelized butter sauce, whipped topping, and crushed vanilla wafers

This was exactly what it says it was. They nailed what they were going for. Very reminiscent of Banana Cream Pie, the hint of caramel was great and well portioned, and the bread pudding was ideally moist and fluffy. A rich dessert and very shareable. A little artificial but non-offensive. The right amount of each ingredient, they married together well into a banana lover’s dream. It loses points for the bit of artificial banana flavor and the universal likability, but it will definitely be a few people’s favorite festival item.

*NEW* Bunch of Grapes Pull-apart Bread – $12.49
Boudin sourdough pull-apart bread (Plant-based)

Genuinely the best version of a Boudin sourdough loaf that I’ve had. The pull-apart “grapes” are the perfect size to eat plain or with butter. Makes eating so much easier and adds to its versatility and shareability. Harder, slightly chewy crust, soft spongy middle, the tangy sour flavor you want from sourdough. All around a perfect sourdough experience in our book.

*NEW* Chile Relleno Torta– $15.99
Chile relleno, refried beans, salsa roja, lettuce, cotija cheese, sour cream, and guacamole on toasted telera bread served with fries

Another solid Award Weiners Torta. Big Portion, big mess. This was a hearty bite with solid spice from the pepper and a good amount of gooey cheese. The bread was solid and lightly toasted. Guacamole was abundant but nothing special. Overall, the cheesy chile is the star of the show, but the supporting cast of ingredients is all fresh and good enough, not great. For mass-produced chile rellano, this is quite good. The breading on the pepper was slightly too soggy for me, but still enjoyed my bite. Too spicy for those sensitive to it, but a beginner-friendly welcome to a more intimidating food item.

- *NEW* Chicken Spinach Artichoke Dip Pizza: Herb roasted chicken with spinach artichoke creamy cheese sauce (Available by slice or whole pie) – $9.49
*NEW* Chicken Spinach Artichoke Dip Pizza – $9.49 per slice
Herb roasted chicken with spinach artichoke creamy cheese sauce (Available by slice or whole pie)

A high-quality pizza for a theme park. Significantly less Spinach Artichoke dip than the grilled cheese and than the typical dip. It’s more of a white pizza with chicken, veggies, and artichoke. Big pieces of well-seasoned chicken and soft chunks of artichoke, with just the right tanginess. We praised the freshness of the ingredients and the mix of flavors that would be very tasty hot or, in our case, cold. A big reason for this score is the uniqueness and appreciation for pizza of this level in a theme park, that is, comparing it to theme park food and not all pizza. If you were to go for this kind of pizza in everyday life, I think you will be happily surprised at this solid take on it.

*NEW* Ube Latte with Matcha Foam – $7.75
Ube milk with matcha cold foam (Non-alcoholic)

Genuinely bomb. Separately, both parts are individually strong flavors, and when mixed, marry to a more mild, naturally sweet, earthy beverage. Matcha foam is thick and sticky, but not too bitter or pungent. The ube, a pre-mix, is more subtle and can be reminiscent of taro. Sweeter than anticipated, but not in a bad way. Overall, a good introduction to these flavors for beginners, but neither is particularly artisan. Points for surprise and uniqueness for the theme park matcha/Ube.

*NEW* Frozen Banoffee Banana – $7.99
Milk chocolate-dipped frozen banana with toffee pieces, caramel sauce, and white chocolate drizzle

This was a delicious way to end the festival. A perfect theme park desert. The frozen banana was ripe and the right temperature for eating, not too hard. The toppings were the best balance of flavors with good ratios of everything. The toffee was less present than expected and subtle unless you got a big piece in your bite. The drizzles weren’t too sweet or sticky, and on the whole tasted and presented like elevated high-quality park food. This lost a single point for how hard it was to eat, but gave nothing away for taste.

*NEW* Bulgogi Bowl – $15.99
Bulgogi beef and gochugaru-marinated cucumbers over rice garnished with spicy mayo, crispy shallots, and sesame seeds

The bulgogi beef was wonderfully prepared — moist, tender, marinated, but the star of this dish was the Gochugaru-marinated cucumbers. All the veggies were fresh, and the spicy mayo had the perfect amount of kick. The savory meat balanced perfectly with the fluffy rice, while the spicy heat of the mayo balanced with the fresh, tangy veggies in a four-way combo we really enjoyed. But it lacked a bit of the wow factor to make this a 7, but the combination of flavors and textures makes this a solid 6.
Rating out of 7: 6
*NEW* Pandan Milk Tea – $7.29
Oat milk and toasted coconut with brown sugar tapioca spheres topped with coconut cold foam (Non-alcoholic)

This is the sweetest drink we’ve had all festival. Nice coconut smell, strong coconut flavor in the topping, and individual Sweet nutty vanilla flavor in the tea. When stirred, the flavors joined together quite well; however, when adding the brown sugar spheres became a bit too sweet to drink a lot of. Still a natural, not artificial sweetener, but a bit much unless you really like sweeter drinks, this is right up your alley. For a milk tea, it was smooth and flavorful. But lost points for its lack of wow factor and being just slightly over the comfortable sweet level for most people.

Traditional Mexican stew with chicken and hominy served with chips

This was delicious. Our favorite so far. Every ingredient was so fresh. The hominy and chicken were perfectly cooked, the cabbage, jalepeño, and radish toppings were crispy and the perfect textural addition. The broth was flavorful with a subtle spice and was so well-balanced. Served with chips was a nice touch, and I enjoyed dipping them. This was way better than one would expect for theme park pozole, and we had not a single negative thing to say about it. A must try for sure.

The mole is the star of the show, good chicken, and ingredients. The complete dish was Spicier than you would expect and also sweeter due to the waffle cone. This was a confusing one and divisive for us. We had some good things to say flavor-wise, but the stark texture and flavor contrast of plain white rice, mole, and waffle cone shell just didn’t add up for us. All good individually, but together definitely interesting. The score was a compromise, with creativity and uniqueness considered for sure, and we both agreed this was better than average, but weird enough to keep it out of the top spots.

Fake banana, there is no way around that, but probably one of the best fake bananas we’ve had. The Hazelnut Mickey Waffles are exactly what you would expect, nothing fancy or spectacular, but solid and yummy. The banana cream is typical Disney fresh-made thick whipped cream, and the flavor is subtler by itself but amplified by the hazelnut when eaten together. Not for everyone, and not a must-get, better than average, but neither of our favorites. If you’re a Banana lover, give it a try!

Upgraded Taco Bell in the best way. Feels like comfort food with a major quality upgrade. A great spicy flavor, but a bit much for someone spice sensitive. The chalupa shell is crispy and crunchy, but it gets soggy and falls apart. The salsa and meat are very flavorful and fresh, and you get a good amount of both. Missing the wow factor, but no true complaints other than the mess. Pleasantly surprised, a simple crowd pleaser that hits the spot.

My biggest disappointment of the festival. This smelled better than it tasted. This is a lot of ingredients that all gave us nothing. This was bland, and the burger was overcooked. And I am mad because it had all the possibilities of being a delicious take on a fancy meatball grinder. All the components are there, all the ingredients are fresh, sans the burger, and the bread is great. It’s a good size, lots of toppings, and a great idea. This is a three because it is unique and not inherently bad or off-putting, it’s just disappointing, and I hope it gets better as the festival goes on, because this could’ve been a top item.

That Parmesan cheese crust is delicious, and the best thing about this sandwich. It’s a great crunch! The spinach artichoke filling is again pretty user-friendly. No giant chunks of artichoke, just the right amount of brine and tang. I wish there were more cheese; it needs to be gooier and cheesier to be a grilled cheese. It felt like all the cheese was outside, and the sandwich was just artichoke dip. It was solid comfort food that was decently unique. This would be great on a chilly night. If you love spinach and artichoke dip, you will like this. If you love grilled cheese, you might be left wanting.

The Pandan whipped cream was very good, sweet, subtle, and the toasted coconut added texture and a tiny bit of flavor in a great way. It is still a 3 for those toppings and the fact that it’s still a Disney churro, but the burnt bitter coffee sugar tanked it on the whole. We wouldn’t get this again, and it doesn’t stack up against past festival churros. Even if you drink black coffee, this isn’t it.
